Aviation Machinist's Mate (Reciprocating), Third Class Stringham was a member of Carrier Early Warning Squadron 115, Carrier Air Wing 5 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS MIDWAY (CVA-41). On February 3, 1973, he fell overboard and drowned. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
