James Reitz (1971)

This news has saddened me greatly this morning. Pam and I were classmates from the 3rd grade through 6th and had many classes together in 7th - 8th.  We were also both members of a young person's social club (dancing, etc.) as young teens in GG. She was smart, creative, pretty with a sweet personality to match. I don't mind admitting that I had a huge crush on her. In the social club we were required to ask a girl to a big annual party/celebration, and I asked Pam. She politely declined saying that her parents thought she was too young to date. One of those "what might have been'' moments. High school sent us in different directions and we rarely saw one another, but I do remember she was selected to be Sophomore homecoming princess the second year we were at GGHS. That didn't surprise me in the least.

I had always hoped I would get a chance to see her again as I think we had a lot to talk about. That would have been wonderful and fun. Alas, such is life.

I will contiue to remember her fondly with a smile, as I have done all these years.
