I heard that also, Rondi.  Apparently, SAPD didn't have enough to hold him.  The good thing is that there's no statute of limitations on murder so hopefully, one of their cold case investigators is actively working this one.  If there's enough physical evidence available in storage, the investigator might catch a break on a DNA or partial print hit from a more recent arrest.  Or more unlikely, a new witness might come forward, a previous witness might change their story, or the actual perpetrator might confess.  One way or another, someone needs to pay for this and hopefully, that individual is still around to pay for it. 

I believe that it's still unsolved, Melvin.  Hopefully, the perpetrator will be arrested and brought to justice for this.
