Dean Grimes VIEW PROFILE

Dean Grimes, English teacher par excellance, was fond of Simon and Garfunkle and taught their poetry to us  He was "by the book" but altered his alphabetical seating chart so that "Stone" sat immediately behind "Heining."

Mr. Grimes was born July 24, 1922 - which made him 47 when he taught my Junior English class.  He passed away January 25, 2001.  Please post your remembrances of his life as a comment below.

I remember asking him one time ( a few times!) why my essay got only a B+ or an A-, feeling bad about it. He told me that my essay was good, but could have been better. He felt I was not using my full potential. His feedback made me a better writer, which has helped my life and my career, partially. With warm memories,

John Cole
