I knew Joe during the GGHS years.I don't know any of the details of this accident (this is the first I've heard of it) but I remember he was a nice, unassuming guy influenced by the burgeoning hippie culture of the day, and like a lot of us, got away with as much as he could under the school dress code of the day.
This news has saddened me this afternoon; but I'll bet he loved his motorcycle, and if he had a choice of how to check out, I'm sure he would have chosen going out while on a bike, like Dennis Hopper. RIP Joe.
