HI CARLA LEE STAGG,  I HAVE YOU AND YOUR SISTER ON THE LIST I SENT TO PRINCIPAL ALAN SUMMERS LAST WEEK.   NO ONE HAS ANSWER MY REQUEST YET.  I WILL WAIT UNTIL AFTER SPRING BREAK TO SEND ANOTHER REQUEST FOR BRICKS OR SOMETHING OF VALUE FROM OL' SAM'S BUILDINGS.

I READ CLYDE'S INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEMOLITION OF THE ORGINAL SAM HOUSTON BUILDING.  I WAS TOLD BY THE PRINCIPAL'S ASSISTANT THAT THAT WOULD HAPPEN SOMETIME IN 2018.   WELL, THAT'S THE CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS FOR YOU.  TODD APPLEGATE, I PUT YOUR NAME ON THE LIST.  I HOPE SOME OF OLDER ALUMNI DON'T CROKE BEFORE THEY FINISH THAT JOB.

Thank you, Charlotte, for doing the foot work for us.  I hope they do allow us to keep a little piece that represents a tangible memory of our past.

Charlotte # 3535 ~ The whole project was to be finished by mid 2019 according to the original plan and link that I have posted and some others have also posted the link.. Not sure if they have been delayed by all the rain or if they will tear down the old school in order to fix the track and parking lots.....I can sure tell they are working on it ~ every trip to Houston they have more and more done. From the looks of it they new school will be huge......I would love to be able to go tour it when it's done.

Seems the subject of "cemetery plots" are being brought up again.  I didn't post last time but my sister and I have 2 in the old Hollywood Cemetery on N. Main and I-45 if anyone is interested.  Our parents bought them when our grandmother passed but they moved to Katy TX and them my sister's husband passed and they wanted to be buried next to him so they bought plots here in Katy.  Now my sister and I have the ones in Hollywood Cemetery and don't know what to do with them.  Neither of us are going to use them so if anyone would like them.....they will be reasonable. I would be glad to show them if they are interested.  Just post here and I will see it.  Thanks...

I agree.....let's get back to stories of the days at Sam Houston and growing up on the northside...also try to find classmates and get them on the profiles pages and to the reunion. John huettel '68.

Everybody needs them. Better to help

out a classmate and buy at a better price than pay

full price from the facilities!!’

Please bear with us as we try and help out a classmate in his time of need.

You are both welcome to put on post of a different subject matter if you would like.

Thanks

Yes, I agree!

Better to help out a friend in need with anything some of us might have or have connections with. I think it would be great if everyone got use to coming here to the SAM site for all needs. I'm sure there are several on here that could offer a service or refer them to someone. It is always good to help out and if we help someone we are also helping ourselves.

I will start by saying that in case some of you are not aware ~

I am a licensed Officiant for Weddings and Funerals, I have been doing this the last 7 years.  I have traveled to some locations to do weddings and if any of you are in need of my services I will gladly offer you a SAM HOUSTON discount.

I also offer party planning other than weddings.

I am licensed  by TABC (Texas Alcohol Beveage Commission) as well, so if your having a party and need a licensed person (most venues require that now) please let me know.

Who else on here has a service or advise they can offer?

Judy

I volunteer at Northwest Assistance Ministries at 1960 and kuykendahl on Fridays and teach tap dancing to adults 55 to 85!  Great fun and exercise. I have a couple of other Sam Houston people besides myself. Used to square dance but stopped so if anyone can use outfits, let me know.
