Cindy Morrow Benton

Currently I'm a widow, we lost Billy on December 22, 2018. I'm very active in my church Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. My Sister-in-law Jeanie Benton and I have been traveling some, and we have also been traveling with our church.

I retired from Verizon Wireless on March 27, 2020, after 25 years of service.

Billy and I were married on June 19, 1982. We celebrated 36 happy years in June, 2018. I worked at various locations in the customer service field until joining Verizon Wireless on March 27, 1995. Currently I hold the position of Manager State & Local Gov't Contact Mgmt - Verizon Wireless. I support and manage the compliance of six State Contracts (GA, NY, NC, SC, TN, TX) and oversee three consultants that are responsible for managing 20 other Eastern States. Billy retired from the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office in April, 2002 after 30 years in Law Enforcement. Soon after he retired Verizon Wireless transfered us to the Raleigh, NC area. We lived in Willow Springs, NC for 2 years, at which time Verizon Wireless transfered us back to the Charlotte area. We moved back to Kings Mountain in July 2004. Billy then went to work part time at the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. He retired for a second time June 1, 2010. Shane is married to Rebecca Bricker Peterson, they live in the Ramsuer, NC Area and have one son (Kaleb). Kaleb is 23 years old. Larry Dean lives in Kings Mountain, and is married to Deanna Carroll Benton. Larry graduated from NC State University in the Electrical Engineering. Larry and Deanna have three sons and two daughters (Chris, Connor, Brody, Karie, and Huntlee). Chris is 19 years old, Connor is 10 years old, Brody is 10 years old, Karie is 16 years old, and Huntlee is 12 years old.
