Olivia was part of one of the best families ever in Kinston or anywhere else. The Smiths(parents: Helen & George - children: Olivia, Camille & Gary) were good friends of my family. Helen and George played many a hand of bridge with my parents Mary Alice & Donnie Gay, Sr. Although I haven't kept in touch as I should, I believe Helen and George are now deceased as are my parents and Olivia. As many of you may remember who knew her, Olivia was a beautiful person inside and out as well as a great student. God bless them all, and Gary and Camille,if you read this, please let me hear from you both.

Olivia truly was a beautiful person inside and out. She knew how to love others, how to make you always feel good about yourself, how to really laugh, and how to encourage you to reach for the stars.

I have many wonderful memories of her which I will always cherish. Her parents were special people. I felt as if they were my second parents at time. They were always there if you needed them for anything.

Olivia was a very dear friend of mine for many years.  I met her in 8th grade when we were in the same home room at Grainger.  She also lived in my neighborhood as did Carol Ann, so we frequently would walk together talking about our hopes and dreams for the future.  I absolutely loved Olivia's family.  Her parents were absolutely so loving and friendly whenever I went over to visit.  After losing touch with Olivia  during our college years we reconnected after we graduated, and I had the good fortune of keeping in touch through letters and phone calls all through the years that Jim and she lived in Maryland.  I feel blessed to have known Olivia, her parents, George and Helen, and her sister and brother, Camille and Gary.  They were just a beautiful family!
