Butch was my next door neighbor. We played guns and cowboys and Indians together. He would come over and we would climb the big Sycamore tree in my yard. His father, Lionel, was an air force officer and after service he had an airplne at the grass strip airfield near the Kinston police range. He would take Butch and I flying together and it was a wonderful experience. His mother and father had dances when we were young at the airport where his plane was kept. Butch died in a traffic accident in his mother's Buick Special.
