Greetings and salutations one and all and happy Wednesday.  Well, it looks like Diane finally sent some real Winter this way.  Had to take out the trash this AM and retrieve the can around noon - felt like it was getting colder.  This evening looked like it could SNOW!  In my never ceasing effort to enlighten any and all who may stop by, I came across a parking sign which indicates the space is reserved for a politician.  Notice the appropriate placement of the head. Not much else going on these days so I guess I'll sign off for now.  How you are all having a very blessed week.  Later.

Greetings and salutations one and all on this wintery day!  Well the Bulldogs win ..... again!  Attended a neighbor's funeral today and picked up another load from our daughter's house in our seemingly never ending move.  Maybe one more load and we should be done!  Can't believe we are still moving!  Since no one seems to be around, I guess I can vent a little.  We have become addicted to the teachings of Joseph Prince.  This morning he was talking about King David and what a great leader he was.  I guess I had never thought of him as the true example of what a leader should be, but I was impressed enough to say, yeah, that's what we should expect from a president.  David, a man after God's own heart had great wisdom and cared for his people, even calling them his sheep.  PBO may be a very intelligent person, as Joe Biden says, but then, what does Joe know, but he, PBO is totaly void of wisdom.  If I'm wrong, I wish someone would show me my err.  May God have mercy upon this nation and may God bless America again.  Enough seriousness.  Here's a little funny that I hope brightens your day.  No, its not a true story about me .... I don't drink Wild Turkey.  I hope you all have a very blessed weekend.  Later.

My small grandson got lost at the shopping mall. He approached a uniformed security guard and said, “I’ve lost my grandpa.”
The guard asked, “What’s his name?”
“Grandpa”.
The guard smiled, then asked, “What’s he like?”
The little tyke hesitated for a moment and then replied, “Wild Turkey and ladies with big boobs.”

Well, mates... we have a lot to be thankful for... even though the election didn't go our way... and our Braves didn't make it to the World Series... the Dawgs and Falcons are still doing well.  And we still have more blessings than we can count, including our families... and our friends in the CLASS OF 68!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Thanksgiving one and all.  I trust you are enjoying the holiday and giving thanks, appropriately, to our creator - unlike our president, who, for the fourth year in a row failed to mention God in his Thanksgiving message.  I don't know if he is a Muslim or not, but one thing I am certain of, PBO IS NO CHRISTIAN!!!!  I was happy to see Don back among us and Jim (as well as all our lovely ladies).  I had a report that Jim may be on the run from the law - I'm not sure but the attached report seems to match someone that shall remain nameless.  I'm just saying ......  Well if any of you doubt that inflation is overtaking us, go shopping for toys!!! and most of the stuff is Junk!  Well I'm sitting up here playing on the computer while Sherron slaves away decorating.  I guess I'd better get my butt in gear before she blows a fuse - non-electrical.  I hope you all have a very blessed weekend.  Later.

Diane Harris (Moore)

Well, I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. It's my favorite holiday, or at least close to it. It celebrates our blessings, and no gifts are involved. I love it, and as far as I know it is unique to the USA. We met our newest little grandson the weekend prior to Thanksgiving, when Greg and  Christy brought little Michael Harris Moore to see us. That was a big blessing right there to be sure.

After the kids left Sunday night, we got up early Monday to make our typical mad dash home to GA. Drove down Monday and spent that night with Dick's mama. We took her to see "Lincoln" on Tuesday before Dick and I drove down to Lake Oconee for a night, then Wednesday night with my sister in Greensboro, back to Athens Thursday for the feast at Dick's brother's house, and back on the road Friday for the drive home. Then foolish me attempts to deck the halls, and  I still don't have it done. All I did was make a mess. It is slowly, slowly getting there, but I must be doing something wrong 'cause it is taking forever.

No news here. Just checking in to let you know I'm still kicking. It's late, I'm sleepy, and on the verge of getting grumpy, so I am going to bed, and maybe I will wake it in a cheerful, energetic mood, and will finish getting these stupid walls decked. Bah humbug.

Gee, reading back over this I sure went from thankful to gripey quick!

Nighty nite!

As You Slide Down the Banister of Life Towards 2013 -- Remember:

1. Jim Baker and Jimmy Swaggert have written an impressive new book.    It's called .... 'Ministers Do More Than Lay People'

2. Transvestite: A guy who likes to eat, drink and be Mary.

3. The difference between the Pope and your boss, the Pope only expects you to kiss his ring.

4. My mind works like lightning, one brilliant Flash and it is gone.

5. The only time the world beats a path to Your door is if you're in the bathroom.

6. I hate sex in the movies. Tried it once. The seat folded up, the drink spilled and that ice, well, it really chilled the mood.

7. It used to be only death and taxes, Now, of course, there's shipping and handling, too.

8. A husband is someone who, after taking the trash out, gives the impression that he just cleaned the whole house.

9. My next house will have no kitchen - just vending machines and a large trash can.

10. Definition of a teenager? God's punishment ...for enjoying sex.

Thought for the day: Be who you are and say what you feel ... because those that matter... don't mind ... and those that mind ...don't matter!

And As You Slide Down that Banister of Life You Should Pray That All
The Splinters Are Pointed The Other Way...

Every now an then I receive an email that truly is worth sharing.  This was one.

                                  Jesus Loves Me (For Seniors)

While watching a little TV on Sunday instead of going to church, I watched a Church in Atlanta honoring one of its senior pastors who had been retired many years. He was 92 at that time and I wondered why the Church even bothered to ask the old gentleman to preach at that age. After a warm welcome, introduction of this speaker, and as the applause quieted down he rose from his high back chair and walked slowly, with great effort and a sliding gate to the podium. Without a note or written paper of any kind he placed both hands on the pulpit to steady himself and then quietly and slowly he began to speak....

"When I was asked to come here today and talk to you, your pastor asked me to tell you what was the greatest lesson ever learned in my 50 odd years of preaching. I thought about it for a few days and boiled it down to just one thing that made the most difference in my life and sustained me through all my trials. The one thing that I could always rely on when tears and heart break and pain and fear and sorrow paralyzed me... The only thing that would comfort was this verse.........

"Jesus loves me this I know.
For the Bible tells me so.
                                Little ones to Him belong,
We are weak but He is strong.....
                                Yes, Jesus loves me...
                                The Bible tells me so."

When he finished, the church was quiet. You actually could hear his footsteps as he shuffled back to his chair. I don't believe I will ever forget it. A pastor once stated, "I always noticed that it was the adults who chose the children's hymn 'Jesus Loves Me' (for the children of course) during a hymn sing, and it was the adults who sang the loudest because I could  see they knew it the best."
Senior version of Jesus Loves Me"

Here is a new version just for us who have white hair or no hair at all. For us over middle age (or even those almost there) and all you others, check out this newest version of Jesus  Loves Me.

                                 JESUS LOVES ME

Jesus loves me, this I know,
Though my hair is white as snow
Though my sight is growing dim,
Still He bids me trust in Him.

    (CHORUS)

YES, JESUS LOVES ME.. YES, JESUS LOVES ME..
YES, JESUS LOVES ME FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

Though my steps are oh, so slow,
With my hand in His I'll go
On through life, let come what may,
He'll be there to lead the way.

                                (CHORUS)

When the nights are dark and long,
In my heart He puts a song.
Telling me in words so clear,
"Have no fear, for I am near."

                                 (CHORUS)

When my work on earth is done,
And life's victories have been won.
He will take me home above,
                                Then I'll understand His love

                                (CHORUS)

I love Jesus, does He know?
Have I ever told Him so?
Jesus loves to hear me say,
That I love Him every day.

                                (CHORUS)

If you think this is neat, please pass it on to your friends. If you do not pass it on, nothing bad will happen, but you will have missed an opportunity to "Reach out and Touch" a friend or a loved one.

                                God Bless Us All !!!

Every day is a gift .. that's why it's called the Present.  Later.

Gary Grice

Well another week has drawn to a close with the very sorrowful events in Conneticutt.  Only someone totally insane could have committed such a crime.  There are enough news coverage so I will avoid further mention other than to express my deepest sorrow and sympathy to all of the people of that town.

In politics this week, I heard Barbara Wawa question Governor Christie on his ability to serve as President because of his weight.  Now Hillary Clinton, does not have the physique of a runway model either, but somehow Barbara failed to  pose the same question to her.  I guess there are different standards for male and female fat.  Hillary's most difficult question - her hair style and why she doesn't get it fixed.  I guess a bad hair day could create a national crisis.  Come to think of it, didn't that Edwards get in trouble because of his hair?  I was looking forward to Hillary testifying before Congress this coming week when lo and behold! she slips and bumps her head!!!! I'll bet she will develop dizzy spells that prevent her from testifyig and then amnesia on maters pertaining to Benghazi.  And everyone thought old Dick Nixon was tricky!!!

I just noticed that tomorrow is Beverly's Birthday.  Happy Birthday Girl!  May your day be filled with much joyous celebrating.

I hope everyone had a good week and is experiencing a great weekend.  Later.

It appears our message forum has become a one'um.  ???? Expect things to only get more hectic over the next few days so wanted to take a quiet moment just to say ......

And I heard he exclaim as he rode out of sight,

I hope and pray that you each have a very Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and a Wonderful Life.  G

I am thankful to have my home computer up and running again....   Gary, the forum is not as "busy" as it once was, but it still makes me feel more "connected" to y'all.   Thanks for having it for us.

God bless you all.
