Greetings and salutations and Happy Monday!  Don ?????  I just tested the image button and seemed to work.  I got a box to browse to the image and upload.  System could have been water logged from Irene!!!  I'm not sure where ClassCreater is located.  Give her another try and let me know if she doesn't work - we all like the pictures you post, so keep 'em comin'!  You are about the sixth person to mention "The Italian Job" to me so I took that as a hint and ordered a copy of the original (1969).  I'm still luvin' my Mini!  This morning I had on a little Peter, Paul and Mary and they sang the perfect ride to work song ...... "Goin' to the Zoo"!  I had a good weekend.  Started Friday evening putting the first coat of bedliner on the old pickup.  Up early Saturday to finish the job before beginning the demolition.  About noon Sherron came back from delivering some food and informed me that the baby shower for our youth pastor was co-ed.  So I got cleaned up and spend the afternoon with some fine folks admiring their newly adopted daughter.  Some of you may have heard about them, or Sally Baker anyway.  Brad and Sallly were expecting their first born last year when she started developing problems and eventually had a stroke and lost the baby.  Sally has been covered extensively by the local media as she has struggled to regain full mobility.  About a month ago, they were blessed with the arrival of Evie.  Yesterday, the usual Sunday morning activities and then home to fix lunch for the middle daughter and her two little ones.  It was special for me since I haven't been able to hug on Addie for several weeks due to her getting her school shots containing a live virus.  Since I'm taking immune supresssion drugs, I'm suceptible to catching whatever she's being vaccinated against.  Had to makle up for lost time .....  LOTS of hugs.  As they were preparing to leave, our oldest daughter who is now in Minnesota Skype'd us.   So we got to see her three little ones.  As they signed off I looked out the front window and here came our youngest daughter and husband with their two little ones.  They were just out riding around in his Jeep with the top down and though they would stop by.  Really a blessed day!  I hope you all have a very blessed week.  Later.

Greeting and salutations.  Not much going on today but wanted to comment on selection of pastimes.  I know Don enjoys baseball and Jim enjoys golf.  Me.  I think I'll take up fishing.  Hope everyone is having a great week.  Later.

No fish were caught that day

Greetings and salutations one and all.  I trust everyone had a good August and is looking forward to a GREAT September.  The days are getting shorter and beginning to cool a little.  I have a heavy heart this morning as a neighbor and friend elected to end his life on Tuesday afternoon.  (Hot Thomas)  We both seemed to always be too busy to do little more than wave in passing.  Over the last couple of months, I was able to go over and help him with some small tasks when I saw him struggling and I thank God for those opportunities.  One evening he was attempting to apply some Miracle Grow to some bushes I helped him plant along his electric fence.  He repaid me with sweetest watermellon I believe I've ever tasted.  He was a legend without the best reputation in Oconee County and had really struggled with many issues over the past couple of years.  But everytime I saw him, he had a smile and a kind word.  He will be missed.  I hope everyone has a great day and holiday weekend. Later.

Gary... the Image Button seems to be an issue only on my NEW laptop.  I checked the website on my  OLD desktop computer and the Image Button box opened fine.  I have no idea what the problem is or how to correct it.  If you have any suggestions, I would welcome them.

I am very sorry to hear the news that your neighbor ended his own life.  I had a similar situation about 30 years ago when my next door neighbor committed suicide.  I did not know him well, but it is always sad when someone ends it all that way... and it is very tough on their family and friends.  These are tough times, and you really never know what is going on in people's hearts and minds.

Gary, my friend... I sense a declining interest here in our Class Forum.  It has pretty much dwindled down to a core of five regular contributors with an occasional comment here and there from a "drive by" visitor.  And I know we have people that stop by but never leave a comment.  But it seems that even our regulars are gradually drifting away too.  Maybe it's just been a busy summer... or maybe all the social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc) are taking over.  I like Facebook too, but I still enjoy our Class Forum, and I do appreciate all you have done to maintain this website.

If anyone does stop by, I wish them a Safe and HAPPY LABOR DAY holiday.  Be safe out there on the highways and byways.

And Gary... if you do go fishing, be careful that you don't catch something that is bad for your health.  :-)

Take care, mates... See ya down the road.

Hello to all,

Just to let Donald and Gary know that I stopped for a minute to catch up on our website. So sorry to be an absent partner for so long. Hopefully myself and other "partners in crime" will get more active and offer entertaining information for our class. I just stay in a rat race and I need to get out of it.

Gary, I am very sorry to hear about your neighbor. So so sad and final..... Sounds like you were someone that brought the smile to his face and hopefully a bit of smile in his heart. It is heartbreaking when life gets too hard to keep on, keeping on, which is what we have to do.

Well, I am at work (Houston County) and probably should move on to the business at hand (processing arrest warrants). It is a tough job but somebody has to do it. I hope all of you have a wonderful labor day weekend. Love & hugs,

Judy

HEY! DON'T GO!! I'M STOPPING BY!! I know most of our classmates don't write, but I am betting some of them stop by the site to read our foolishness. I, for one, would miss it if the site was taken down, but I sure would understand. I realize it takes some cash and some time to maintain.

Besides, if you took the site down, where else could we go for inspirational stories and photographs of, say for instance, serene fishermen? I could make references here to "lures, bait, catching things", but Don beat me to it. All I will say is, one reason I visit the site is that it makes me feel young again, like I am still in high school amid teenage boys with lofty thoughts.(ha, ha, I crack myself up!) Do you really want to rob us girls of '68 of an opportunity to revisit our youth? I didn't think so. Actually, many of the stories (well, SOME of them) are inspiring, as was the sweet article about your youth minister, Gary.

So sorry to read about Hot Thomas. Dick and I stopped by there for barbecue a couple of years ago on our way down to Greensboro. A sad ending indeed.

Have a great Labor Day weekend everybody. Dick and I will have been married 40 years on that day. Dick probably thinks it feels more like 60, but it's flown by to me. Of all the stupid things I've done in my life, that was not one of them.

Love to all.....

P.S.  HI, JUDY!! Good luck on those arrest warrants. By the way, I was not in Houston County on the day in question. Love you!

Good morning and happy Friday.  Another week is almost done.  Don, I'm not sure what your image issue could be but sounds like you might not have JavaScript enabled.  Google, enable java on (Windows 7/Windows XP) or whatever your OS happens to be.  Be sure you have also enabled pop-ups for this site.  You should get a message for either of these but it could be hidden by task-bar or another window.  Seems to be some concern about this site going away.  It is true that high school classes being added now must pay but we will ride free as long as possible.  The only expense is the web name "OCHS1968.COM".  I will probably let that expire in a couple of years due to low usage.  Don is correct about the number of regulars.  Here's a list of everyone that has signed on in the last 30 days.

We have had a total of 15,606 individual daily sessions since the site's creation.  It looks like we may be in for a bit of much needed rain this weekend.  I hope it doesn't dampen anyone's plans.  Hope everyone has a great weekend.  Later.

Let me sign in here and be counted!    There is rarely a day that goes by that I don't check in on this site to see if anyone has posted.    I love this "connection" to old friends.   I guess that I share Diane's feeling of "feeling younger".   It takes me back to younger, more carefree days.   No time is without some problems/troubles, but my memories of my OCHS days are such happy ones.

Now, about the cost, Gary - we have some "class money".   Please use it to maintain the site.   I will gladly contribute more when needed, and I am sure others would too.

I don't write as often as I probably should, but that is only due to having absolutely nothing new to share.   My life is good and blessed, BUT....   there's just so much that I can say about going to work (at a job that is pretty stressful,- and I so want to retire), seeing my grandchildren (as enjoyable as that is to me, I'm afraid there is not much news with it), and trying to keep the house and yards together.... and that is pretty much it.

I'm not traveling - don't have news about trips or a snazzy new convertible to share.  (I love hearing about your car Gary!   sounds so fun!    and I always enjoy hearing about trips people go on.  I am definitely not blessed with Diane's gift of writing.

Guess I sound pretty boring - but I am so thankful for peacefulness and contentment!!!!

Yes Don, I am definitely ready for some football!   I am excited about the GA game tomorrow night.   I so hope that they do good this year.

Jim, I was glad to read about the recovery of Berr Rabbit!

Please keep in mind that I am hoping we can get together on a Sunday afternoon, probably in October.   If you have suggestions of dates, or know dates you could not come, let me know.

Diane and Dick, do you have special plans for your upcoming anniversary?   Have a wonderful one.

I hope everyone has a great Labor Day week-end.

Hi Classmates,
I know that it has been ages since I have signed in so please forgive me. I am like Connie, I haven't had any interesting tidbits to contribute, but I do check in occasionally to read about everyone. I haven't been on any trips, but have enjoyed reading about all of your excursions. I usually like to go to the mountains, but it has just been too hot to even go there. We hope to go to the beach somewhere in October. We are hoping for cooler weather by that time.
I have been visiting my sister in Elberton since Tuesday and we had a wonderful time w/my other sister on Thursday. I am heading back to S.C. on Sunday. I miss my hubby and cat. We have no special plans for labor day. He will probably be out and about the community working or going to the hospitals. Hope all of you have a great week.
Hope Dick & Diane have a happy anniversary.

Later,
Kathy

Dear Dick and Diane,

I hope that everyone had a good "Labor Day week-end".

Happy 40th. Anniversary Diane and Dick!!!   I hope your day has been just as special as you are!

Kathy, your time with sisters sounds so nice.   I am sure you all enjoyed it.

Well, Saturday night was a sad night for Dawg fans....    I have hopes the season will turn around from here.

Darrell Huckaby has a weekly column in the Athens paper.   I understand he is also a teacher and does some speaking.   I enjoy his writing so much, and agree with those who compare his humor and writing to Lewis Grizzard's.   In his Sunday column, he talked about growing up and his work in a mill village, the lessons learned from hard-working, God fearing folks, etc.    While in college, someone made a reference to him and that "Mr. Huckaby was raised in poverty".    He wrote:  "We weren't poor in Porterdale; we just didn't have any money.  There's a big difference".         I loved that, and will just add "AMEN"!

Have a good week, sweet friends.

Greetings and salutations one and all!  And Happy Monday to all who return to work today.  I trust you all had a great weekend - unlike the Dawgs and Braves.  Oh well, you can't win them all, but Danny you might consider brushing up that resume and coming out of retirement.  I fear there might be an opening for a coach at UGA soon.  Well I had a GREAT weekend.  Did a little work around the house - very little as a matter of fact.  Went to Mr. Thomas's funeral on Saturday morning and kept a couple of the grandkids during the afternoon.  Always good to see them, but after a few hours, the taillights goin' is a welcome sign.  Sunday, church and SS - Sherron taught.  Good lesson on Wisdom.   Sunday afternoon, cloudy, a little cooler, a beautiful lady beside me and a top down ride through the back roads of north Georgia.  What could be better?  We wound around and ended up in Eatonton where we came across a store front that said, "Cotton State Insurance, Jim Willis".  The proprietor was obviously at his lake house for the weekend.  Yesterday I watched "The Italian Job".  Don, I hope the remake, I think you saw, was a little better.  The Mini chase scenes were great but when the synopsis read "a cliff hanger", I should have guessed.  Today's funny lines brings back memories of when I was awakened during sinus surgery.  All I remember was the doctor saying, "Can you see my hand?"  I responded to the affirmative and went back to sleep.  Seems he had poked into my eye socket during the procedure and was concerned he may have hit my optic nerve.  All turned out well but not what one expects going into surgery.  Any who, here are a few lines that hope give you a chuckle and brighten your day.  Hope everyone has a very blessed week.  Later.

Hi clasmates,

     Hope everyone is doing good.

Dick and Diane happy anniversary.     Charles and I celebrated  our 40th in Alaska.

We flew to Mt. McKinley and saw the summit.  We flew to there  dog  camp and drove the dog sled.  WOW!!!   It was gorgeous.

HELLO TO ALL,

I'm back, so soon, yeah that's right ! Back at work, I am. Had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Did not leave my house/yard after getting home from Church on Sunday. Wow, that is unusual for us. On Monday, had hair clipped up and was just as comfortable as I can get (just running around "cowgirl", hahahaha, gotta keep folks interested in our website---Gail, that one's for you). I am sure the neighbors wanted me to put more clothes on.

DICK & DIANE, I hope it was an absolutely wonderful ANNIVERSARY for ya'll. Forty years, huh, ya'll must be older than me. Of course, when I add my "married" years (18 plus 21 1/2) that is pretty close to 40, so guess, I am not TOO much younger.

Janie, Alaska, how wonderful. We hope to go there one day (after Montana).

LOVE & HUGS,

Judy

Hello all,

I hope you all enjoyed your labor day, whatever you did. Rabun worked and I had to rest after my trip to Ga.

Don, Rabun & I have that movie you mentioned with all those Mini Coopers in it & we watch it every now & then. He loves seeing the scenes with all those cars. Gary, I'm glad that you are enjoying yours. I see those quiet often running around here & think they are cute. I know gas mileage is good & parking is a breeze. Think of that movie everytime I see one.

Judy, so good to hear from you. Hope all your family is well.

Janie, what a surprise to see that you checked in, hope to see you more often. Glad you had a great time in Alaska.

Well I am hoping we all will get a LOT of needed rain in the fall and cooler temps will be staying w/us.

Greetings and salutations one and all and special greetings to Judy, Janie and Kathy on their return to the forum.  We regulars had feared we scared everyone else away.  I also have to convey to Janie how jealous I am.  I have always wanted to go to Alaska.  As I was approaching the end of my military career, they were looking for someone to visit, Alaska, Nova Scotia or Panama City, Fla.  Having never been to Nova Scotia or Alaska I volunteered just KNOWING that I would get to go to one of those two locations.  Guess where I went?  If you guessed Panama City - give yourself a prize!  Your mention of Alaska has prompted me to rejuvenate my bucket list - Visit Alaska added.  It sounds like we have a lot of movie fans here on the forum so today's contribution is a list of things you should have learned from the movies.  Hope everyone is having a great week.  Later.

50 Things I Learned From The Movies

1. All telephone numbers in America begin with the digits 555.

2. Medieval peasants had perfect teeth.

3. The ventilation system of any building is the perfect hiding place. No one will ever think of looking for you in there, and you can travel to any other part of the building you want without difficulty.

4. Any person waking from a nightmare will sit bolt upright and pant.

5. It is always possible to park directly outside the building you are visiting.

6. A cough is usually the sign of a terminal illness.

7. If you decide to start dancing in the street, everyone you bump into will know all the steps.

8. No matter how badly a spaceship is attacked, its internal gravity system is never damaged.

9. The more a man and a woman hate each other, the more likely they will fall in love.

10. All bombs are fitted with electronic timing devices with large red readouts so you know exactly when they’re going to go off.

11. Cars that crash will almost always burst into flames.

12. A cup of black coffee or a splash of cold water in the face is enough to render the most inebriated person stone cold sober.

13. If you try hard enough, you can outrun an explosion.

14. If you stick your head out of cover during a gun fight, it will never be hit, especially if you look backwards to hold a conversation with someone behind you.

15. Police Departments give their officers personality tests to make sure they are assigned partners who are their total opposite.

16. Honest and hard working policemen are traditionally gunned down three days before their retirement.

17. You’re very likely to survive any battle in any war unless you make the mistake of showing someone a picture of your sweetheart back home.

18. The Eiffel Tower can be seen from any window in Paris.

19. Computers never display a cursor on screen but always say: Enter Password Now.

20. Once applied, lipstick will never rub off — even while scuba diving.

21. All watches and clocks are synchronized to the second.

22. No matter how fuzzy the photograph, it can be enlarged and enhanced to show the finest detail.

23. Nearly everyone speaks English, no matter where they are from. Even aliens from outer space, despite the fact they have never been to Earth, seen an Earthling, or even heard of Earth or Earthlings.

24. No matter how catastrophic the disaster, pets will always survive it.

25. There will always be a doctor in a plane or building with the right medical supplies.

26. No matter how dead you think you’ve killed a bad guy, he can still get up at least three more times.

27. People rarely use the bathroom, and if they do, they’re usually dead within minutes.

28. Most laptop computers are powerful enough to override the communication systems of any invading alien civilization.

29. Cemeteries generate their own weather. Usually rainstorms… and not just gentle sprinkles, but biblical downpours.

30. When paying for a taxi, don’t look at your wallet as you take out a bill — just grab one at random and hand it over. It will always be the exact fare.

31. Most people keep a scrapbook of newspaper clippings — especially if any of their family or friends have died in a strange boating accident.

32. Cars that fly off cliffs spontaneously combust in midair for no apparent reason.

33. When you turn out the light to go to bed, everything in your room will still be clearly visible, just slightly bluish.

36. Close blood relatives usually look nothing like each other, or have only a passing resemblance.

37. Any lock can be picked by a credit card or a paper clip in seconds — unless it’s the door to a burning building with a child trapped inside.

38. When they are alone, all foreigners prefer to speak English to each other.

39. An electric fence that’s powerful enough to kill a dinosaur will cause no lasting damage to an eight-year-old child.

40. If your town is threatened by an imminent natural disaster or killer beast, the mayor’s first concern will be the tourist trade or his forthcoming art exhibition.

41. It does not matter if you are heavily outnumbered in a fight involving martial arts — your enemies will wait patiently to attack you one by one by dancing around in a threatening manner until you have knocked out their predecessors.

42. A man will show no pain while taking the most ferocious beating, but will wince when a woman tries to clean his wounds.

43. If you are trapped in a tunnel, in a sinking ship, or a burning building, a cute little girl, a nun, and a feisty granny will be trapped with you.

44. All writers are wealthy; all publishing companies are glamorous; all artists are self-supporting and have large attractive well-lit loft studios.

45. Action heroes never face charges for manslaughter or criminal damage despite laying entire cities to waste.

46. During all police investigations it will be necessary to visit a strip club at least once.

47. If an expert makes a prediction and is disbelieved, then it will come to pass exactly as he predicted. If he makes a prediction and is believed, it won’t happen.

48. If there is a large bump in a downhill road, a speeding car will fly over it and hit the ground in shower of sparks. Unsecured passengers will not be injured, and no tire damage, broken axles, or suspension failures will occur. The car will then execute a sharp turn involving a skid.

49. Dogs always know who’s bad and will naturally bark at them.

50. Text appearing on a computer monitor appears letter by letter and making a sound as if it was produced by a typewriter.

Gail Gabriel (Wilbanks)

Hi  everyone! I hope everyone is well and enjoying this cooler weather.  My favorite season of the year starts next weekend.  Hunting season!  I'm just kidding really, but my husband is a happy camper during hunting season and when he's happy, I'm happy or is the other way around?

It's great to catch up with all of you. Diane and Dick, I hope you had a wonderful 40th anniversary.  You make a great couple.  Gary, I love the Mini Cooper.  Sounds like you are really enjoying yours.  Good for you!  Don, I enjoyed reading about your travels.  Hope Liz is feeling better.  It is good to hear from Kathy, Janie and Judy.  Kathy, I know you enjoy the visits with your sisters.  Hope you and your family are healthy and happy.  Janie, your trip to Alaska sounds like the perfect way to celebrate your anniversary.  I've heard it is beautiful.  Judy, are you still up for retirement soon?  I don't have a clue what you were referring to about me (yeah right) but remember what happens in Vegas, I mean Santee, stays in Santee.  Don't make me come down there and have you arrested!!

Lots going on in my life right now.  My dad continues to lose more of his kidney function, but never complains, just does what I tell him to do.  Jeremy was deployed again a couple weeks ago.  He is not in a combat area and for that I am so thankful.  He and 16 other Marines are training foreign military for deployment to Afghanistan.  I have not talked to him since he left, but he is able to stay in touch by email.  As with his other deployments, I try not to dwell on his being gone (he lives in San Diego and I don't see him that often), but he is so far away and I know that I could not get to him in a hurry if I needed to.  Sounds like I am having a pity party, but I'm really not, ok I am, so come on over and bring food.  He should be coming home next July.  One more thing and then I will say goodbye. I was diagnosed with diabetes recently.  For now it is well controlled and I'm trying to eat right and stick to a low carb diet.  Will appreciate prayers for my family.

Thanks for listening guys.  Love you all.

Donald Chandler

Good Morning, Mates...

Hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend.  It is nice to see so many comments on here since my remark about folks losing interest in the site.  Liz and I had a very nice holiday weekend... church on Sunday, and Monday we attended a 50th birthday party for a friend... amidst the stormy weather.  That nasty tornado did a lot of damage just a few miles west of us here in Cobb County and then on to Cherokee County... a 24 mile path of destruction and flooding rain.  They had predicted three to five inches of rain here but we had only one inch of rain in our back yard, but I'm thankful for that.  And it feels like Fall now... last week we were in the mid 90's but now it is about 60 degrees here in Marietta.

Diane and Dick... hope you had a nice 40th Wedding Anniversary... congratulations to a great couple.

Gary... I tried the "enable Java" thing and it still doesn't work... thanks anyway.  I think I will post a photo on here and use our desktop computer.  BTW... I can't speak for the 1969 version of "The Italian Job", but the 2003 version was pretty good... especially the car chase.  Sounds like Kathy and Rabun would agree.

Jim... I'm happy to hear that Brer Rabbit has been safely returned to his proper place and that his ear has been re-attached.  And I hope those "scalawags" (as Connie called them) will be duly punished.  I think it would be interesting to visit that Joel Chandler Harris Museum there in Eatonton some day.  I've visited the Wren's Nest here in Atlanta and found it very interesting... even if Harris is "politically incorrect" in  these modern times.  And Jim... our Braves and our Dawgs had a rough weekend, but maybe better things are yet to come.

Connie... it is always good to hear from you and I think your comments are always interesting.  Since I was a big fan of Lewis Grizzard, I would like to check out that Darrell Huckaby column you mentioned... what day of the week is it published?  I sometimes check out the Athens Daily News online... to see what the angry Dog fans are saying.  I think they may lynch Mark Richt is they lose this weekend to South Carolina.  And oh how I hate to lose to Spurrier.

And it's great to hear from a few mates we haven't heard from in a while...

"Cowgirl" Judy... hope you can check in a little more often, amidst those arrest warrants.  I know you are a suffering Bulldog fan this week too.

And it's nice to hear from Kathy again.  Hope you are feeling better, and hope you had a nice trip to Georgia.

And Janie... it is great to hear from you again too.  I envy your trip to Alaska with Charles for your Anniversary.  I've always wanted to visit Alaska too (after Italy).  Next year Liz and I will celebrate our 30th Anniversary and maybe we can plan a nice trip if Liz is up to travel.

And great to hear from you too Gail!  A belated Happy Birthday to you.  It seems that you know all kinds of secrets... I remember you told me some things about my brother Ron that I never knew.  BTW... are you still a Braves fan?... we have a great chance of making the playoffs again.  And on a serious note... our prayers are with you and your health issues and your family.  May God bless and protect your son.

I know it was a tough game Saturday for all Dawg fans, including me.  And I think we have a real problem with our coaching staff... the Dawgs did not look very well prepared, physically or mentally.  But we'll see what happens.  Anyway, I have two great-nieces at UGA right now... one is a Senior and one a Freshman... and they bleed Red & Black... win or lose.  They were both at the game at the Georgia Dome Saturday night with their younger brother.  I thought I would share a photo of Deenene, the Senior who is studying Sports Training and Medicine... she had her photo made with our favorite mascot, UGA!... GO DAWGS!

Don can you send me a screen shot of what you see when you go to upload an image along with browser and operating system?  Your problem doesn't appear to be too uncommon but appears to be local to your PC.  For all others - from whom we would like to see pictures - here's how it should work.  When you go to post a response you get an editing window with images of things to do across the top of the text frame (Example below).  The top left most entry is "Source" - don't go there unless you are well versed in HTML coding.  Next to "Source" is an image that looks like a picture in half a frame.  Click on that and the following window should pop up, if you have pop ups allowed enabled.

Now simply Browse to the picture you want to upload and double click on it.  You will be returned to this frame with the Browse field filled in.  Click on Upload and OK and the image "should" appear on your text editing frame and should look something like this.

I hope this wasn't too simplistic for everyone.  Give it a try - you can't break it.  Let me know if you need assistance.  You don't have to post your issue on the forum, you can email a question directly to me - I won't tell.  Good to see more folks participating.

Gail, I went through the diabetes bit, got on the low carb diet and felt soooooo much better.  After 6 years of poking my finger every couple of days, the doctor said my A1C was stable enough that I didn't have to keep doing that.  I'm a sugar addict and I know it.  If I want to feel bad, give me a big old milk shake and a big hunk of cake.  Yum to Yuk in 24 hours or less.  Get it under control now girl!!! and I'll pray with you for a great resolution.  Later.

So nice to recently hear from Judy, Gary, Don, Jim, Kathy, Janie and Gail!!!!!

Janie, you will have to bring some pictures of your Alaska trip the next time we all get together.   Gail, thinking of you and your family.

Don, Darrell Huckaby's column is in the Sunday Athens paper.  Nice picture of your niece and UGA.  Yes, I think we can still claim having the best mascot in college football!

We haven't heard from Diane and Dick in a while.   They are either still celebrating their 40th. anniversary -----   or too tired to be in touch after celebrating their anniversary  :)

I saw Jesse Allen Bray @ Cracker Barrell on Tuesday evening.   Nice to see him.

Also talked with Linda Wheless Young this week and she said to share that Louise Patton Yearwood is having some health issues.   Remember her in your prayers.

Diane, I have a message for you from Linda Wheless Young:                She said to tell you that her granddaughter, Katie is a safety patrol at school.    Said she looks and acts just like Linda did!   (oh dear! :) )   We laughed about the trouble you and Linda got into back in "the day".

Oh, my! I don't know where to start! I am way behind on the site's news! Gail, I think I wrote you a personal email a couple of weeks ago, and I'm going to go back and check for sure. Glad to hear you are being pro-active in taking care of yourself. I love you too much to have you feeling poorly!

Dick and I took a quick trip to Mackinac Island, MI last Monday for our anniversary. We got back last evening late. Had a great time! The weather was perfect, despite all the horrible weather and fires that so much of the country is having. So sad. Connie, sooo glad you were concerned about us, heh, heh, heh. With friends like you guys, I know I would not go missing long before someone would go to the authorities. The authorities know me well.

We got back to a small pile of mail, and much to our glee, they were not all bills! We had some of the s-w-e-e-t-e-s-t cards from people! Talk about making us smile! Love you sooo much! Oh, and Danny Gabriel, Dick says to tell you he owes you one dollar and will pay up the next time he sees you. Seems you wrote in his yearbook that "I'll bet you a dollar that you will be married before you get out of college". I sure hope you won't demand interest!

Better go for now. I look like a booger bear! Sure hope no one comes to the door, they would think I was deranged and go running! Oh, and Linda Wheeless Young, when it comes to our 7th grade patrol duty, I will continue to deny any of your allegations of wrong doing!

And, Jimmy, I think "Song of the South" was the first movie I ever was taken to see by my mama and daddy. Still love it.
