Leroy will always be remembered by those of us who lived down in Northtown between 21st to 25th streets. He was always fun to be around. He died much to soon and I am sure he would have gone on to do great things. - Hal Swindell

I'll never forget that Leroy rearranged the letters in the grill of his Rambler to spell Mabel. I agree with Harold's comments.

I'm not sure how Leroy got his nickname "Flea", but that is what we called him when many of us attended SMS. My memories of Flea was that both he and I got to know each other there in college, although we knew each other at NKCHS. We worked together, ate together, and drank a little together there. We worked at the sorority houses serving the ladies and cleaning up afterwards. We ate very well. Miss those good times at my place drinking a little wine and listening to music. Leroy was a good friend!

Thanks Larry Chambers for your comments about our friend LeRoy. We went all though school together, beginning with kindergarten at Dagg all the way through high school. Living in NKC we were close enough to hang out a lot through those years. We were also in Scouts and church activities together. The name Flea came, probably from Jim Cline, who called him Flea-Roy. I served as a pallbearer at his funeral. I still remember that day as perhaps the saddest day of my life.

John & Larry - thanks for the updated remembrances of Leroy. We sang in the choir together and I will remember forever the day I heard about the accident that took his life.  I'm smiling just thinking of the good times we had.
