The April 7 TAVC general membership meeting was attended by 23 members at HOPS Fogelsville.  Great food and service as usual! Since we did not have a speaker at this meeting  we had a great time catching up with friends after a long winter.  It was  a great start to the club’s 75^th year!

Jeff gave his treasurer’s report and stated that the club’s finances are doing very well.  All scholarships were paid to the recipients and all checks were cashed. All 4 are doing well in school.

The deadline for scholarship applications to be submitted to the guidance office is approaching soon.  Eric Roberts will send copies of applications to the selection committee for review.  The selection committee from last year will serve again.  Thank you to Dennis Reiss, Rick Trumbauer, Dale Ritter, Larry Bernhard and Al Marsteller for agreeing to serve again this year.  Let it be noted that AL has been in the committee for 60 years!  He has served since he was in college.  Special thanks to him for his dedication to the mission of the club.

Rick reported that he has installed 8  bricks that we had ordered for the monument.  He noted that we will have to work on the weeds that are starting to emerge.

The board met in February and discussed the 75^th anniversary of the club.  They decided that we will meet in Dec and it will be a 75-year celebration.  Al has researched possible venues and he reported prices.  The members decided to meet at HOPS Fogelsville for the Dec gathering and reminisce with the some of the original and long-time members about how the club has evolved over the years.

We will continue to meet at HOPS Fogelsville but the price will increase for this year to $16 starting at the May meeting.
