I appreciate everyone's concern. Judy had had several health issues. It's a blessing she was taken the way she was. She had an aneurism which burst putting her in cardiac arrest. She had severe brain damage and would never have come out of the coma. My last telephone conversation with her was right before her cardiac arrest. We were laughing and joking. I always said that our family would be laughing on our death bed, and it was definitely true in her case.

What follows in the wake of her death will be the real trial. I'm the pillar of strength in this family. And boy do I have my work cut out for me. I'll keep taking my Fosamax and shots of tequila (only for medical purposes). That should get me through this and of course your good thoughts and prayers.

Patricia Hamilton (Denham)

Pat, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. I'm so glad to see that you have your sense of humor to help you through this.

I ask too, for everyone's thoughts and prayer's for my brother. He will be undergoing surgery on Monday to repair a tear in his colon/bladder. They had repaired it in Feb. but it has a hole again. He is in a very weakened condition from the surgery to remove all the tubes he had from the first surgery. We are praying that he is strong enough to make it through. He is 6' and weighs under 100 lbs.

Thank you and again, so sorry for your loss Pat, I can't imagine losing one of my siblings.

The other Pat

Pat, so sorry to hear about your brother. My thoughts are with you, your family and brother. See, this just shows how fortunate we were that Judy went painlessly and quickly. No matter how bad our situation there is always someone with more troubles than ours. Not sure if that knowledge helps with our pain but maybe it helps us deal with our problems.

Now could someone please post something fun and exciting on this forum? We may have to rename this the wailing wall.

Okay here you go my new adopted grandchild (Judy's grandchild) crawled for the first time on Thurs. She's crawling all over the place now. She's a slow starter, she is one year old. She sure is cute.

I thought I knew when Homecomeing was. Now I'm confused. (I know it don't take much, but...)

When I first found this years schedule it showed the game on Nov 6 was AT Domninguez, so I ASSuMEd that meant Homecoming was the 13 against Gahr.

Now the schedule shows both games at PHS.

It might help if the school's website posted some information but, nooooooooooo.

OH WELL, LINDA i'm sure you'll know.

Dear Pat and Pat:
So sorry about your loss of your sister Pat K, I hope you will be able to keep all that strength you have to hold up that pillar for the family. You are an amazing woman, take care of yourself.

Pat D, will be keeping your brother in my prayers.

On a good note for once!!!! We had a wonderful birtday party for my mom today at the facility, over 50 people and she enjoyed every minute of it. It was a great day for once.

God Bless all

While making calls to family friends to tell them about Judy, I found out that Julie Harkema is battling breast cancer right now. Not sure if anyone remembers her, she graduated from PHS in 1967. I'm sure her family would appreciate your prayers and positive thoughts.

Hey Mike, glad to see you back on again. We need you to liven this site up a little.

Got an email from Roma and Don Hodges is home from the hospital. Now she has to keep him still - Good luck!
No, seriously Don glad everything worked out great for you, now listen to your nurse Rama.

Pat, so sorry to hear about your sister Judy.

Lynne hang in there my friend!

Ok now I will liven up this site a little with my granddaughter. Taylor Swift watch out because Emillie is coming your way someday. No, Emillie is 8 years old and wants to be a singer. We just found out that she is writing songs, 8 years old and writing songs! She made a song for my dad, needless to say I had tears in my eyes. Listen to the words carefully from this 8 year old little angel. Attached is a you tube presentation by my granddaughter Emillie. We were all gathered at my daughters house in Beaumont celebrating her new home, my granddaughter was writing/singing songs (my son's daughter) Emillie is 8 years old, loves to sing and likes to write songs. Take a look

Hi guys. How's everyone doing? I just returned from a 10 day vacation on the mainland. Denver and San Francisco. Lorene, I think you live in Carmel. When I was in SF
I heard there was a power outage last week due to heavy rain. Prior to SF I attended a university of denver ice hockey reunion...in denver. Boy was that a 5 day fraternity party. I also got together with some buddies prior to the reunion. I was pretty tired from the non stop partying. I can't remember the last time I was up till 1:30 drinking with buddies. We actually closed the place. But, this was at the hotel where we were all staying so that wasn't a problem. I also had dinner with a niece of mine. It was good to get caught up with her. She's not someone that I have seen a lot of lately, but, she lives in denver and wanted to see uncle mike. But, I'm back on the job trying to get caught up with everything. Aloha to everyone. Mike

Aloha, Mike

Glad to see you back. I don't live in Carmel, but I love Carmel and would live there in a heart beat. We often go to Carmel to visit Roland's aunt. Let's just say that it is a little bit of paradise where we stay. I could get used to living like that without a doubt. I've always loved the area around Carmel too. What's not to love about Carmel.

Lorene,
You are so right about Carmel - it is just beautiful a little bit of Heaven. My cousin lives in Carmel Valley - retired from Del Monte Corp as a surveyor many years ago. We love to go to visit them.
Hope all is well with you and family.

Peggy

Yes I joined Facebook...
Thanks for all the invites.....
But, no I don't have the patience for farming,or to be in a fishbowl. I can just about handle "Pogo" & that gives me trouble...
I do have 50 credits on facebook & a lot of "hearts" & "smiles" (I can handle that)

Keep smiling

Don, now that is what I'am talking about, a little bit of humor. Speaking of carmel - Oak Glen is sounding pretty good to me with all those carmel apples - yummy!

Geneva, I know what you mean about facebook. I do not have the time to do anything on facebook but jot down a few things once in a while. Also to see what's going on.

Peggy, thanks for the kind words. We just take one day at a time. Roland is walking with a cane as we speak. Fender Musical Instruments put him on administrative leave at this moment, with several stipulations. Looks like the surgery won't be until after the first of the year or thereof. I am so thankful that I have a job and insurance. I just put him on insurance through my job. I was able to get the CTA insurance and he will be able to continue with his same insurance company. I tell you that takes a lot off my mind.

Oh December is coming! I am looking forward to the November Holiday, one day off Nov. 11, then two days off for Thanksgiving and the big one is: Winter Break (off) December 21 to January 5th. Yippee!

As the time gets closer to the Holidays I will start a list of classmates who would like to gather for dinner before going to the Mission Inn to look at the beautiful lights.

Keep the forum alive - keep smiling! Hey Lynne where are you? You are always on my mind!

Love to all,

Lorene

Geneva, thank you very much for posting your elementary school class photos with enlargements. Collins and Mokler were twice the size of some of the other schools.
What a lot of happy little faces.

What ever happened to Los Cerritos Elem.? I'd like to see class photos from other schools too.

Also, I'd really like to see more people post old photos. I wrote in my autobiography (daily journal)that there is information about my youth on this web-site, the same for all of you who post stuff.

OMG !!!!!!
There is a farm with my name on it....
I know nothing.....
It must be a magic farm.....
Everything is being done, & I don't have to do it.
I wonder who might have my password ?????
(He might be sitting at the other computer)

I like the "slots" on facebook, they are "fun"
So see you on facebook..... "G"

Geneva, thanks for the photos of Good Ole Roosevelt. Weren't we cute? It reminded me of some good friends from elementary school. I'm still in contact with Soila. We were in each others weddings. We met in kindergarden and have remained in each others lifes (only now it's only on the periphery). I found Sandra Shropshire a couple of years ago.

Yes, Pat I remember Soila Garcia, didn't she leave the area after about the 3rd grade? Please tell her I said Hi.

Do you remember Irene Gomez? She contacted me from classmates & now on facebook. She moved away after about the 1st or 2nd. She is up north now.

Pat, we are still cute, (in our magic mirrors)

Let's get Soila to join facebook....

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Hi Everyone,
I keep reading the forum and trying to think of something funny to write about. It seems not to much fun in my life these days.

However, I do have a little funny story about my mom and the place she is staying. They moved a new guy in from West Covina, CA he was a big business man there but has Alzhiemers pretty bad. He is always wearing a suit and tie.
The other night my mom woke up and was crying and upset, so this gentleman came up to her and wrote her some kind of note that made no sense at all, and told her to keep it and he didn't want to see any more tears on her beautiful face. So, she tucked it in her special hiding place (BRA) and off to bed she went. Later on she woke up again and this same gentleman was still up so they went into the dinning room and had juice and had a big business meeting, they were both writing things down that made no sense. The nurse ask me if my mom had helped my dad run his business, I laughed and said, "hell no she couldn't even balance her checkbook" my dad did everything. It was pretty funny, but she settled down and finally went to bed.

Today I showed up and she told me her friend was a doctor and he really helped her. I guess all I have to worry about now is that they don't go into her room and play doctor, I don't think my dad will approve of that one bit.

Everyone take care, and don't forget to keep Charneitas precious granddaughter in your prayers.

Lynne

Lynne,
Thank you for that touching story about your Mom. I had a friend and her mother had been a receptionist. At the home she was at they let her "play" receptionist whenever she wanted. I suppose when I am placed in a home I'll want to fix everyone's computer.....boy I'll fix them all right !!
