Just thought I would let you all know that Betty Haskins called to let me know that Cindy Lane passed away on the 27th; unfortunately, that was also Cindy's 60th birthday.  My condolences and sympathy go out to Larry, Betty, and Cindy's family.  I believe services are going to be at Forest Lawn in Cypress, CA but not sure of the date.

Oh Molly,
I just can't believe Cindy is gone, I was sending her text messages and she would write back but I hadn't heard from her in a long time. I still can't believe she is gone. God Bless Her! and her daughter that was taking care of her.  So, sad another good person gone from our lives forever.

Let's all take the time to make sure we stay in touch and keep this forum going, lets kick it up a notch and get busy on here again.

I just finished the Alzheimers Memory Walk, volunteered to work on it months ago. It was lots of work but worth every minute, we ended up in 2nd place for raising the most money to help fight this horrible disease.

God Bless you all and take care.

Lynne

Hello classmates.....Does anyone know what Cindy passed away from?  Had she been sick awhile or what?  Marcia...Don and I went through Lake Havasu City on our way home from Laughlin last Tues.  It looks like a nice little town  even though I kept waiting for the truck to stop so I could get out and walk about a bit.  We first were just cruising down highway 95 waiting to see a sign that read Havasu next right or something and all of a sudden...a sign alright but it said Welcome to Needles Calif.  I don't know how that happened  but it has happened twice now..poor navigation on my part I suppose!  Oh yeah... keep meaning to tell all of you about a web sight..Better World Books.com...they have a bargain basement section that sells 5 books for fifteen dollars..they are slightly used but all of mine have been in like new condition.  The money goes to reading charities in all sort of countries.  Guess thats all she wrote...oh Pat Kuester....hows the redesigned house look??!!Take care guys.....Sandi Harris

Sandi --- We were in Laughlin last Monday.  Wouldn't it have been funny to run into you there?  Don't worry about getting lost; Pat gets lost almost every time she comes to Havasu.  One time was so bad she was coming through Parker, Az. and almost ended up in Las Vegas. Now that's lost!  Be sure to give us a call next time though.  We would love to see you and meet Don.

Hello everyone, I thought I would take a moment to keep in touch. I am truly sorry to hear about Cindy Lane. Wow! It shows us all how precious time is. I remember Cindy from school as a very sweet and loving person. I always enjoyed talking to her.

Just trying to keep up with the everyday pace of life. Working, working, working. Roland is trying to get his Social Security Medical Disability, still enduring lots of pain.

Oh, I am going to be grandma again the latter part of April, my daughter April is expecting a baby. I am looking forward to this with great anticipation. Love babies.

That's it for now folks, just checking in. Been busy still going to the ranch on the weekends to help my mom.

Love to all,

Lorene

Well, I hate to bring bad news to the forum, but Linda Bolton needs your thoughts and prayers.  She is diabetic and has a staph infection in her foot.  They are treating it with mega doses of two different antibiotics.  She is very scared she may lose her leg or foot, so am I.

Listen Marcia, you don't have to blab to everyone about my travelling misadventures.  I found my way to your house with no problems the last few times (and very few, I might add).  I was thinking about asking Santa for a navigational device, but that would take the fun out of travelling.  Although it might help me arrive on the day I say I will.

Sandi, I was thinking about dropping by to say "hi".  I am visiting friends in Prescott the 1st of Nov, but you live too far south.  Maybe another time.  My house is pretty much done.  I ordered window treatments, but they haven't been installed yet.  My bedroom is in the front of the house, I have a big window that faces the street.  I dress and undress in that room.  I was asked if I was afraid someone might see me.  I told them that they'd only look once.  Although, I am a little concerned because we have new neighbors with two small boys.  I wouldn't want to tramatize them at such a young age.  Hopefully for the neighbors' sake my blinds will come soon.

Hi All,

I'm doing well, taking Art Classes at the Community College. Something I started before I started teaching, 35 years ago.  Now I'm picking up where I left off. My son came down for a week, so I'm extra happy this week. Gary Buice was down here in Southern Cal last month. It's always good to sit and talk with Gary.   We still talk about life and it's meanings.  We went over and found Ron Dumphy. He says hello to all.  His hip and knee are healed.

We ate at Chris and Pitts last Saturday.  They still have that same good BBQ for reasonable prices. Most of the good ol' steak houses, from the 40's and 50's seem to have gone away.  That's Southern Cal for you, here today, gone tomorrow.  I like going to older eateries, like you find in the midwest or down South.  The food channel had a few places that were over 100 years old! That's good eats!

Not much else. We did go to Spain this Summer. After 4 years of Spainish, I am still at the basic level of understanding.  My daughter did most of the talking. I bought a nice bull fight poster that reminded me of the ones Ms. Nelson had on her bulletin boards at Paramount. Do you remember them?

Don't be afraid to jump in and write a note or two.

Your Classmate,

Mark

Hi Ya' All!!!  This is Robin.

Has anyone found out why Cindy Lane passed away?

Pat Kuester (Bowen)

I hope this is correct info.  She had cancer.  They went to remove a tumor either on her spine or back and found she was full of cancer.  She lived only a couple of months after the operation.  Someone correct me if my info is incorrect.

Thank you Pat.  So sad and so sudden but I just hope Cindy didn't have to suffer too long.  She and Sue Kibby stayed close friends through all the years so I wonder how Sue is doing and of course Cindy's family, as well.  I was in touch with Cindy while she and Steve Pollock were married.  Actually the 3 of us attended one of our early class reunions but after she married Larry I lost touch with her.  One of the most beautiful Christmas cards I have ever received and framed was from Cindy Lane, I'll always have that to remind me of her.

Once again I am reminded how precious life is and not to take for granted all those things that I do take for granted on a daily basis.

Well, take care!!

Until we meet again!

Robin

Hi Robin and the rest of you PHS folks:

I hope my information is correct as well. Cindy and I am been in touch a few months prior to her spinal surgery. She has just got a new Blackberry phone and we were texting back and forth.

It appears that when Cindy went in for surgery on her back they found cancer through out her body. She then moved in with her daughter. It wasn't long after that, that she passed away. I haven't been able to get in touch with her daughter.

Life is so much more precious the older we get the more and more I appreciate each and every day.

Hope this finds you all doing well.

Love,
Lynne

Hello All,

Gary Buice and Art Salazar came over today.  We talked for hours.  It's always good to see them.  I posted some photos on my clasmate profile.  I also put the photo of Gary, Ron Dumphy and myself from last month.  We're all doing well. Art's still working away as an accountant. He has a very "hot" Corvett. Still young at heart.  It makes me want to go out and buy an new(used) mini-van.

I've been substituting and taking an Contemporary Art History class. I really like the class but, I don't feel a need to put together an annotated bibliography.  My wife, Rosa, says, "Well, if you can tell the difference between a Monet and Manet, you're doing fine."

Hope all is well.

Mark

Pat B. was just passing through Lake Havasu (in a round about way) on her way home from Prescott.  Denny, Pat and I went to lunch and had a great visit.  She always makes me laugh.   Pat and I are meeting up in Tennessee in about ten days.  What fun that should be!

P.S.  Thanks for coming by, Pat.  I know it was out of your way.

Here is a notice I recieved about a get together for Paramount alumni that is being put on by Gayle Klindworth Ormund and Linda Brown Johnson from the class of '69.  Thought I would share.

PARAMOUNT HIGH SCHOOL REUNION!!! Classes 1966-1972 ... no student ID required ... :-)! SPREAD THE WORD - Friday, November 26, 7 p.m.-Midnight. Part of Lemondrop Club Party that night at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 17941 Von Karman, Irvine, CA 92614. Special Lemondrop room rate available that night. Dancing, buffet dinner, non-stop 70's 80's music with DJ and AWESOME live band! RSVP to Linda Brown Johnson OR Gayle Klindworth Ormond. We can then save enough tables/space for our group. Bring family/friends, too. Pay $20 cash per person at the door (all-inclusive except drinks). We will have special name tags on that night, so be sure to let the Grand Ballroom Reception Table know that you're part of the PHS Reunion. See you there!

No kidding !  That's the day after Thanksgiving and we will be at the Condo in Newport Beach for that week.  We will have our great friends with us, but like you said no ID required!  I'll talk to the Social Committee Chair when she gets back from Atlanta later this month.  :-(

Also, last month we took a different vacation for the two of us and hit the road for a five states western tour with a week in Breckinridge and finished visting with Don and Rama Hodges in Prescott AZ for 3 days.  They are both excited about the new home (It's beautiful) and getting out of the SoCal race.  They hope to be relocated by early summer.  I know they are leaving on the 24th for a month at the Condo in Maui.  But maybe the Mitchell's (Kathy Davies) will get this message or hear about the multi-year reunion and if in town be able to make it.

Looking forward to seeing my email buddy and the rest of you that can make it or get away from family for a night.
