Hi Kathy,

Happy Birthday.  I really enjoyed talking with you at the reunion.  You look great and you still have that big smile.  Have fun today, I assume that Roger will make your day special.

God Bless you and those who you love.

Hey, guys.  Shameless plug coming!!

I carpool up to Sants Fe Springs every week from San Diego to sing in a men's chorus.  We won our society's international chapionship for the ninth time, last year.  (The Barbershop Harmony Society has about 25,000 members with contenders from 6 countries.)  We'll be doing two Holiday shows over the weekend of December 15-16.  You can see videos of us singing at https://www.mastersofharmony.org/2017-international-barbershop-chorus-champions-las-vegas-nv/, and see the flyer for this year's Christmas shows at https://www.mastersofharmony.org/shows/.

Hope to see some of you there!

Parking at Duke's. There are several options. Beach parking lots on the north and south sides of the pier, metered parking on the streets downtown, parking structures at Walnut and 3rd Streets, the main lot on the north west corner, the other across the street below the Black Bull Chop house. And of course valet at the front of the restaurant. Walnut is one block up Main and 3rd is to the right.

I'm sorry to hear about Roy.  I didn't know him well, but had him in a class and we talked.  He joked around and was a very nice person, mild mannered, always had a smile, and always said hello.

I visted Gary and Lorie Buice last week.  Lorie is still working, she likes her job.  Gary retired years ago and does stuff around the house.  One of their sons, Jack, is coaching  the local high school football team  in Reno.  The team went to the state championship game several years in a row.  Bishop Gorman from Las Vegas beat them. Bishop Gorman was the number one high school football team in the nation.

Art Salazar and I communicate, besides being a friend he's our Tax Man.  He just had an operation but I hope that he can make it to Duke's.

It doesn't seem like were going to be 70 years old, but here we are acting like we're kids.  After a few drinks we can load up in the cars and go over to Bolsa Chica and have a beach party, that is if were not ready to go to sleep.

See ya al' soon.

Hello fellow Pirates. The dinner at Duke's in H.B. scheduled for May 4th is only ten days away and I would like to know how many will be attending. I don't think we will have enough to reserve the banquet room but I would like  to make reservations as far in advance as possible. Randy Farina, 1 or 2? Mark Overstreet, 2? Robin Scott, 1 or 2? I may have missed any one else who responded on facebook, If you could respond here or call me direct, it would be greatly appreciated. THANKS. Mike 714-336-5848. If I don't pick up PLEASE leave a message.

Oh, bye the way Mark, a beach party sounds like another good idea to get Pirates together. Maybe we can talk about it at Duke's.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for the 4th shout out and wishing all the best to you and yours this holiday and always.

On the subject of maturing, what a nice reference to growing old gracefully. Baloney! Let's face it, we're getting OLD. I thought we were supposed to be mature about the time we graduated, ha ha!

Some of us were able to make it to Paramount Park for the annual Senior's event. Pictured are Ernie Cuellar(67) , Tom Farina(67), Jeanine May(67) and myself(68).  I only took one photosurprise Manuel Alcarez(67), Olga Alcarez(69), Ofelia Cuellar(68), Angel Garcia(67). Robert Jimenez(69), Mrs. Troncoso(59), Ms. Garcia(69) and her sister(67) were there. I know that I missed some people so please excuse me.  We had a good time, always is.   Next event is at Paramount Park,  Oct. 12th. Pot luck picnic.

Art Salazar and I had lunch at Captain Kidd's in Redondo Beach, by the beach. He's recovering from his surgery and is looking towards being more active.  We've been good friends for over 50 years now.

My good friend Art was only one of two classmates that beat me in a race, 9th grade 1,320. The other, my good friend, Gary Buice, 9th grade 1,320.

None of my classmates could beat me in a race. I'm not sure that would be true today!

I should have said none of my female classmates.

I would never had tried.  Do you remember the walk/run race we had to do each year.  In my case, it was a walk/stroll.  Shirley Hernandez was the only one slower than I.

The only real competition I had was Joetta.
