I'm saddened by her passing.  We had just met and planned the 2023 Reunion.  Rosa and I were hoping to have her over for our Christmas Get Together in a few weeks.  Linda was always upbeat and positive.  She loved Paramount and showed it through her actions over many, many years of service to the community, the high school and the youth of Paramount. God Bless her soul and God Bless all those who she loved, and those who loved her.

I didn't know Danny until the Summer of 1967.  We worked together  at the Tastee Freeze for the next two years.  Danny was a character, always upbeat and very sociable.   He was very proud to have been on the Paramount High School football team. I lost contact with him over the years, but reconnected.  It was good to see and talk to him at our last Reunion.   Here are a few photos.  I've poster more on the In Memory page. God Bless his soul.

I have started going through our class list to update addresses, phone numbers and e mail addresses. I'm only at the beginning of the Bs and have already had to make some corrections.  If you know of anyone who has not joined our site and can provide information about them, it would be greatly appreciated. You can call or text me at 909-969-0314. I think this might be a long process, but well worth it if we can get a good turn out of our reunion.

I spoke with with Diana (Behenke)Voegeli this evening. She said she won't be going to the reunion.  But I told her how much fun it's going to be, Maybe she will change her mind.

I also texted with Beth (Bailie) Sheesley. She said she won't be coming either, but to say hello to everyone. She now lives in North Carolina.  I have updated her contact information for those of you who would like to contact her.

Yes he was.  Terry lived on the same street in Hollydale as I did.  We would play and swim together in elementary school.  He lived next door to Susan Price and close to Kathy Morgan.

Hello Classmates and Friends,

I haven't been as active on the Paramount internet sites as I would like to be.  Keeping busy, teaching, Rosa and I became grandparents, volunteering, taking care of my 98 year old mother, and then two of my teeth implants got infected and I had to have them taken out, got a bone graft and am waiting to have new implants.  I sound like "Snuffy Smith" (how ever he sounds like!). I do try to keep in contact with some of our classmates, Randy Roberts, Art Salazar, Gary and Lori Buice.  I do keep in touch with some our classmates via facebook.

I just went over the "huge" list of In Memory.  There are a lot of new names on the list.  It saddened me to find out that some of our classmates passed away only a short time ago.

I really, really hope to see many of you on April 25 & 26th.  I had a wonderfull time at school. All the way from Captain Collins Elem. through P.H.S.   When I talk with Gary, Randy, and Art, it seems like it was only  a few years ago that we were, chasing each other on the playground, going on double dates, sitting in classes...

I'll will reach out to those who I can, via e-mails, facebook, postal service... and try to get our friends to join us.

Sincerely,

Mark

Hey Joe,

I'm sorry to see you leave this site.  Although I haven't been in communication with many of my childhood and teen  friends, it's always been a pleasure when I do.  This site has afforded me that opportunity, especially as we age.

The first photo shows some of our Captain Raymond Collins classmates and neighbors.  The second photo shows us in Mrs. Barrett's class.

I wish you health and happiness as we age. Perhaps you might stay, at least for awhile.

Respectfully,

Mark Overstreet

Hi Joe, and our Captain Raymond Collins Classmates,

Thanks for the reply.

Linda Goulette was in my classroom in sixth grade (second row, seventh photot).

Seems like it was only a few years ago.  She was a very nice person.  I seemed to have lost my first grade class photos (Ms. Nelson), and my fifth grade class photos ( Ms.Neis).

It is with a very heavy and sad heart that our classmate Brenda Sousa Lattig passed away last night.  Many many years ago I worked for Toyota and her husband John was my boss.  Both of them were so awesome and we had so much fun together.  Brenda lost John several years ago and then she lost her son Johnny about a year ago, it all started with covid for Johnny.

Please keep Brenda's family and friends in your prayers. Rest in Peace Brenda.  You are and will always be in our hearts.  Love you, my friend.

Hi Classmates,  I just wanted to wish you all a Very Merry Holiday season. Hopefully, filled with good health!

It has been very sad to see so many classmates who have passed and gone to Heaven. May they all Rest In Peace!

Things here in North Idaho are still as wonderful as they were when we moved here in 1986. Our three boys are all grown up with kids of their own which are our precious 6 grandchildren.

We just returned from a RV trip all the way to Tennessee, we got to see Graceland and many other states of beauty. I hope and pray you are all doing well!

Retirement is wonderful, we moved from Lake Coeur d Alene a few years ago to Priest River but we are actually located on the PendOrielle River. We really like having 5 acres right on the water.

Blessings to all,

Lynne Scales Thurman

Thank you Mark for letting us know about Art.  Art and I lived only a couple of blocks from each other and always a really nice guy to me.  It is very sad that we have lost another Pirate and friend.  Our hearts and prayers go to the family and R.I.P. Art.  Art I will always remember the 6th grade picture in Mrs. Jones Class where you and a couple of the other guys made a statement in the picture.  We did hava few laughs over it and I have it on my desk always to remember you and the others. Miss you my friend.

I have been blessed to have had Art in my life.  The memories that I have will always be a part of me.  I miss his art laugh (chucle), his Art "boyish-sheepish" look, and our personal talks about our lives.  I have many more storeies about Art and I'm sure many of you do too.

Please share your stories with us, good memories last a lifetime.

I posted many more photos of art and my story about about our friendship on the In Memory page.  I hope that you visit it and view the photos of many of you with Art, and share your memories.

Rest In Peace Art so very sorry to hear of your passing!
I have one great memory I shall never forget. My parents would not let me date Eddy Sandoval first off. Little did they know each time we went to my Aunt Dots house and hitch was next to Eddy's, that I would go over to visit! Because visiting his family was OK! Eddy and I spent a lot of time in the car "making out" and I thought he was going to be the love of my life.

At the time Paula Mayos and Art were a couple. So, Paula nd I made this great plan!  Lol

So I went over to Paula's to spend the night. Art and Eddy picked us up and we went to Disneyland. Oh we had the best time ever, especially in the dark rides. ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹never ever in my wildest dreams did I think my parents would ever call Paula's house. Her dad answered and my dad ask to talk to me. Mr. Mayos told him oh they went to Disneyland with the boys! Ughhhh

The next day when I returned home I was so busted! I truly believe that was the first time I had ever lied like that to my folks. Needless to say I was grounded for weeks even as far as NO HOMECOMING DANCE! That was pretty much the end of Eddy and I.

I think I helped convince his mom to let the boys try public school instead of Our Lady of The Rosary private school. I hope that life has been good to  Eddy and Eugene. Eddy did write to me several years after I got as married, he had just divorced and sent me photos of him and his little son. I guess you could say he was my first love. Then came Randy Farina but that's a whole story for my heart only. That one involved Mary Nelson and Dave Wright, and good ole Sadie Hawkins!
High school life was so amazing and I loved every minute of it!

I'm not sure if my post ever go thru because no one ever remarks! But there it is.

I do I ant to wish you all a very Happy New Year filled with blessings and good health!!!!

Lynne

Hello class of '68!

I wanted to post a personal thought to our upcoming reunion. I was on the fence about coming to a reunion after we 'just' had one five years ago. You don't have to raise your hand if you were having the same thought process. But then I started noticing many of our classmates may  have attended their last reunion five years ago!  No doubt our 55th maybe the last for me and many more Pirates. Now I'm not so naive to figure out it is just not feasible for classmates to purchase airline tickets from those living on the east coast or out of the country. But looking at the current names of those that are going, (approximately 50 paid). I see a lot of Yes and Maybe's still listed.
I know many of those names and have FB friends as well as been in there homes for dinner or party.
I hope those that are able, physically and financially will let the reunion committee know you have sent in your $$$.  I hope to personally say HI to as many of you as I can in April.

Glenn,

Thank you so much for your support in getting classmates to attend the reunion.  We never know what tomorrow brings and like you said who know how many of us will be around for the 60th.  This will be a wonderful time for us to all gather and enjoy the reunion.  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and to enjoy the event.

Peggy
