Older and wiser ? For we're both older and hope you're still having fun. Keep on Truckin'

Whoooo Hoooo ! So happy you're still with us. ONE day in the future, my family will be heading down to an area between Lake Okechobee and the ocean where we own some swamp land that my dad bought when I was a young kid. Might be fun to meet up as we try to stop on the way there or back at some river / spring to do a float trip.

I thought you'd retired in California for some reason. My wife and I have a place on the Georgia coast just north of Brunswick on the Altamaha River estuary. Darien. It's an old town with roots going back to colonial times. Sadly it's being overwhelmed with money'ed folks who are 'not' my kind of people. Rich and Conservative. But there's plenty of 'normal' people still around thankfully but the costs of housing has skyrocketed. ON a regular basis my wife and I go to Jaxx to lindy hop dance event at a great little 'speak easy' on Sundays in down town. Other than that, my family still owns a place my dad bought sight unseen during the 50's that was a future development but was and still is a swamp. Only accessible by canoe / kayak or bike . Between Lake Okeechobee and the coast. NO ONE in the family had ever visited the place so we did a family trip there.... a hoot ! I'm 'over' the overly developed areas having lived for 50 years on 114 acres surrounded by timber company land in a place that's lost population since moving there. We're close to a fun town of Athens, Ga and not too too far from ATL to go dancing occasionally.
I still own and operate a kayak/canoe rental biz near Athens on the Broad River and an almost 'dead' one in Darien on the Altamaha River. My wife of over 50 years is a glass artist and is still doing great using Etsey.

Keep on Truckin'. Still having fun dancing, paddling and working. Hope you too are full on !

Still kicking ? Finally had to get 'granny gears' for my mtn and road bikes, quit doing whitewater canoeing except minor stuff, needing an inhaler for the steep hills and lindy hop dances.
What's up with you ?

My wife and I come to Atlanta on a regular basis to dance events or sometimes to support environmental events. We also paddle a decent amount. What's up with you / family ?
