My sister Sheila died at our mother and father's home Dec 25, 1985. She was 39 years old. She awoke early Christmas morning, told her 7 and 11 year old daughters (Stefanie and Melissa) that she wasn't feeling well and was going back to bed for a while. She went into the room she and her husband Larry were staying in, fell onto the bed unconscious, and never regained consciousness. The offical cause was Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

Sheila was the gentlest, most open-hearted person I have ever known. Her daughters are beautiful young women of whom she would be so proud.

Coming to this website reminded me once again of how much I miss by not having her here. I wanted to call her and talk to her about our memories of PAHS.

We love you Sheila, and miss you every day.

I remember Sheila as a sweet, kind, gentle, good friend. We laughed a lot at PAHS. I have a picture of us playing ball in her backyard on one of our birthday. I was fortunate to know her. I hope her daughters are told often what a great, lovely and very pretty person their mother was. Pennie Pinson (Buckelew) '64

Sheila and I rode the bus together from PAHS to St Germaine en Laye...when we transferred to Fort Gordon, Georgia, I was amazed to see Sheila in the halls of Richmond Academy!  Needless to say we ended up making our Debut (in Augusta Society no less) together but beyond that, we drifted apart.  Fortunately I worked with Lynn Carlisle one summer as we were camp counselors at Fort Gordon's Pine Camp - this kept me in some contact with Sheila.

I have always felt that I was fortunate to have an opportunity to get to know Sheila better than sharing bus rides together.  She was fun, thoughtful and actually very pretty(contacts made her blue eyes dazzle!).   I should have maintained contact with both she and Lynn.
