I remember Sam most for his energy, sense of humor, and keen interest in science. In 10th grade, Sam and I made a movie about, of all things, the dissection of a fetal pig for Mr Hamil's biology class. He did the work and I held the camera. We also got a classmate to cough on an agar culture plate, and then we stuck it in the incubator when Mr Hamil was not looking, just to see what we could grow. From all this and more, I am grateful for having known Sam. God bless and rest his soul.

I used to walk by his house every morning, stop there and his mom always offered me coffee or whatever they were having for breakfast. We walked to school from there, solving all the world's problems on the way of course. Families vacationed every year in Canada too. TONS of memories from those trips! He was best man at my wedding also. Going to miss him, RIP Sam.

Sam was a good childhood and middleschool friend. Fun, smart, energetic. I was not surprised to hear how accomplished he had become later in life, and this account published here certainly confirms that. Prayers for his family, friends, and us with Sam's passing even as we fondly recall the joy and impact his life had on so many.

I recall performing in a skit with Sam, Sandy Lundahl and a few other students. Sam was the creator, full of ideas. We had many laughs and light hearted moments rehearsing at his house and ultimately performing. Seems he shared his positive energy, skills and knowledge with many people throughout his life. He is sure to be missed by his family and friends. My condolences.
