Manhattan KS is a small town. My grandfather Southwick was born there in 1875. His father Aaron Southwick was a newspaper publisher in Riley Co. A poet, he was known as "The Bard of Riley". He may have descendants in the area today. Do you Know of him? - Bob Richmond

Kaiserslautern High School 1955. Never did know much about the grade school. I was back there in 2003, went downtown and didn't speak English all day.
Kaiserslautern High School 1955. Kids from Ramstein went to KAHS until about the time you were at Ramstein. I went on to major in German in high school, then went off to medical school, still read German nearly every day, most often Wikipedia.

Kaiserslautern '55 here. Back then high school age students from Verdun went to Kaiserslautern American High School - they lived in the seven day dorm, and didn't get home for many weeks at a time. - Did you learn French while you were there? I learned enough German in my two years at K-Town to major in German in college without taking any language courses there. and still read some German almost every day. - I'm a retired pathologist in east Tennessee.
Kaiserslautern '55 here. I was in Karlsruhe once, very briefly, in May 1955. I remember the city was adorned with German flags, as the occupation ended and the Deutsche Bundesrepublik was underway. - I'm a retired pathologist in east Tennessee.
