Dave died in a car accident August 4, 1999 - age 52. His wife, Nancy Linnell (Sunburst), children Khris and Becky (both of Big Fork) survive him. As well as brothers, Roger, Gail, and sister Susan. Missed very much.
Miss Dave a lot, I was half way around the world in Saudi Arabia when I learned of Dave's accident. Took at couple days to get home and to Montana but was there for Dave and Family.
I knew Dave my whole life, but we got to be good friends while working for Immigration at the Sweetgrass Port of Entry. Dave loved to play pranks on people. One day I came to work at 8:00 in morning and Dave had been working the Midnight - 8:00 shift. After he left to go home, I tried typing on my computer. Dave had taken all the keys off my keyboard and switched them around. Since I look at my keys when I am typing, my memo I had just typed was all messed up. Of course Dave denied doing it, but that twinkle in his eyes gave him away.
Have a blurry memory of a New Years Eve with David and Allen and me in and out of Canada in Allen's '58. Must have been a good time... So many great memories of hanging out at Linnell's Texaco, drinking cokes in the short bottles and watching baseball on the television set. Every time I smell an old service station it takes me back.
