Charlotte Grantham (O'Daniel)

No, we didn't get together. Dorinda was very busy the few days she was here helping her mom with stuff. I talked to her Thursday night and they were leaving early Friday morning. It was good to talk to her.

Karen, Ka and I are meeting tonight to update addresses. We have gotten so many updates. We are so pleased. Wish you were here to meet with us, Aliece and everyone else.....

Yes, it is additive. I try to look everyday to see if we have some new additions.

Keep searching out addresses for us. We do appreciate the help. If we can just get those to sign up that we do have addresses would be great!

Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year.

Charlotte, Thank you so much for putting this site together for us all to enjoy. Here's three "atta girls" for taking to time to put this together for us all to enjoy. Kenneth Bean

Thanks, Kenneth. This is really fun. I like checking it often to see who has signed up recently. We are really trying to contact everyone. Ka is really working hard in that department. We hope a lot will be able to attend. Can't wait to see you and catch up.

Ka,

I just saw the picture you have posted of our 10th reunion - it took me forever to find myself!! It sure looks like we were livin' in the 70's!

Thanks for the laugh -

Becky

Hi all. I ran into Becky Milner today at one of our diners. She is as sweet as ever....it was really good to see you Becky. I hope everyone else is as excited about this reunion as I am. I may be reaching, but I sense a real hunger for us to reconnect and catch up. I will be booking a hotel soon. I would really appreciate some guidance as to the price range that everyone is comfortable with. What ammenities are we interested in (i.e. do we want a bar and restaurant on the property or a meeting space and B.Y.O.F.&B. The price range is $39.95 (includes crack ho's and nightly gun fights...drugs available at your own expense) to $225.00 per night. There are a couple of new properties that I have access to that are in the $85.00 to $110.00 range. Again, it all depends on the ammenities we want on site. In the latter case we will need to furnish our own crack ho's, weapons and they would rather not know about the drugs. Everyone be blessed! See ya' soon.

Char, Ka, Karen and the rest of the hard-working planning team:

Would it be possible to have people sign up on this site if they plan on staying in Lubbock for the night? It could, of course be subject to cancellation, but it would help me negotiate a better deal for us if I knew a number. Maybe there is some other symbol that could be posted by their name or another way to indicate if they want a room and the number in their party.

Thanks for all you all are doing.

Big Dad
(my grandkids gave me the name!)

Ka Hughes (Wilfong)

Mike, I am sure that there would be a way for us to help give you a number for motel rooms. This site is capable of keeping the information as people sign up. Charlotte will probably check tomorrow and read your message.
As far as meal, we talked a little bit about it 0n Monday night, and I think we would like a nice place with plenty of room for visiting available. We felt that most people would be able to afford a nice dinning experience. As far as the rooms, we didn't talk about price range, but I think the $89.00 or a little above would be reasonable for me. I will also check with Char and Karen and see what they think. Thanks for helping to arrange things in Lubbock. We will work and help you all we can with numbers and what ever else you need.

Mommaka (the name my grandkids gave me)

I can't add more symbols, but we do have a count for Lubbock activities. I will post an updated count for each event on the home page. You can see the numbers there.

I agree with Karen and Ka on the rooms and dinner cost. Sounds good to me.

Well, I am Lottie!

Okay, I admit it........I've become a THS website junkie. I find myself checking the site 2-3 times per night to see if there have been any updates.

A quick heads up to all who check the message forum. I have been having an incredible number of email bounces. I got 5 today from Perry Russell, Judy Gunnels, Marcia Nichols, Juretta Honea and Lonny Watson. I checked on the problem reporting link of the Class Creator website and they are experiencing some weird secondary server problem. Post a message on this forum if any of you are having the same problem. If you are trying to contact a class member, try using their e-mail address from the list. If you get a bounce, post a message on this forum and I will bitch at the geeks who are supposed to be fixing the @#%!! server.

I think it should be mandatory that we post pictures in our profiles. If you can't figure out how to do it, get your kids or grandkids to show you how. I am really looking forward to spending time with all of you!!

I am with you. I wish that we could all post our graduation pictures. I have not tried scanning from the yearbook, but I think they would be too small. I might try and see how it comes out.

Perry's e-mail is that of his son, Jason, who lives next door to him. He does not check his e-mails very much because he works nights. Mike, I hope you can talk Perry into coming this year. He is disabled and does not get out very much.

Ka,
Thanks for working on the senior pictures. They are working beautifully. Did I really look like that?

Mike,
I am getting a lot of bouncebacks too (they come to all admins). I don't know why. I have tried to email each one personally to see what may be happening, but they are not responding to my emails. I know that some of them are secondary email addresses which may not be up to date or something. Glad you are checking it out for us.
It seems you are not the only one that checks this site every day or two. We have had 650 hits since we set it up. Pretty good huh? You can see that under admin functions, statistics. Pretty cool.
Anyway, if anyone can think of other things we could add on here that would be of interest, let me know. Maybe I can figure out how to do it. I have a computer genius nephew who can help me do anything we need....
Later, Char

Ka....the reunion pictures are such a treat! It is great to see how everyone is responding and signing up!
Thanks for all the work!

Does anyone have any elementary class pictures? If so, let's see if we can get them scanned in as well. I found one in the 5th grade, Mrs. Johnston's class. She was a trip! Anyway, let's see what we can do. That will be fun.

Way to go on passing around the website info to others. Keep it up. Let's go for 100%.

Okay class, I have been watching the logs and I know how often and when many of you are checking this site (Aliece and Marcia, you know who I am talking about!). Be brave....Leave a message on the forum page. Let's start some chat...spread some joy.....spread some rumors!
I think we all want to know who has a colonoscopy scheduled. Guys, how's your prostate holding up? We need to know if we need to provide a porta-potty trailer at the reunion events to accomodate some of us. Do most of you still have your own teeth? Come on, share a little. Be funny, be serious...just post a note on the forum when you visit. Ricky Cox, I still swear that was you I saw on the train at Christmas. Please tell me you rode the Polar Express in Lubbock.

Everyone be well, be blessed, be happy!

Big Dad

Aliece Sefcik (Lowe)

Yep...I do check more often than is healthy. I am recovering from a sprained ankle and hate daytime tv, haven't started the knitting, crocheting, and other senior sports. So, the internet and I are buds! Mike you are as nutty as you can be....I want the name of your meds....you are way too happy! Keep buggin' everyone and we'll give in to you...Do you want to know about hot flashes too?! And, I know more about ED from tv commercials than I ever knew about any other ailment or disease!!

02/07/09 07:28 PM #42

Michael Henthorn

Are you talking about "Mr. Ed" or something else? Hot flashes are fair game. Also, any plumbing parts that are missing or have been re-arranged. Sharing cosmetic procedures should be left up to the responder. I am thinking of having reconstructive bun surgery. My @#* has been chewed on so much that I need to have the teeth marks removed from what's left of it. Still have some of my own teeth, though.

Keep writing. I don't do Face Book, chat rooms, My Space or any of the other web vices. I figure an addiction to keeping up with old classmates can't be too harmful. Who knows, maybe we can encourage others to pontificate or set themselves adrift on the sea of profundity. By the way, don't mess with my meds...it took some doing to prescribe these for myself and I don't want to cause me any serious dain bramage.

Everyone enjoy your weekend!

Big Dad

Charlotte Grantham (O'Daniel)

You guys are a hoot. I am still laughing here. Let's see. I do have an occasional hot flash but not often. Too many pills I guess. A lot of my body parts have been tampered with but nothing plastic or steel yet. A missing tooth here or there, but mostly mine. When you see me in July, you will know that I have not had a face-lift or tummy tuck! That will be obvious. Oh, I do cover up my gray hair.

My biggest mess right now is my kitchen remodel. With a husband as the contractor, you can imagine how long it is taking. He works one day and takes off three. We started in August and still are not close to finished. Oh well, it has been 37 years in this old place, so I guess a few more months won't be much.

My severe weather alert just went off. I am sure hoping for some rain.......

Waiting to read more.....

Lottie

O.K., guys, I am pretty sure I win the contest for the most metal in one body. I think I did far too many splits and jumped way too many hurdles in my younger years. From toes to back, I get the wonderful feel downs at the airport every trip I take. They say I am the most experienced rub down person they have ever met. I also have had some inner parts taken out, but the funny thing was that I did not seem to get any smaller. I think something else fell into its place and took up residence there. As far as hair color, I like the way God is high lighting mine and so I do not mess with it. I am sure everyone will attest to this, no matter how much my body changes, I still feel as if I hadn't aged these last 40 years. But, I really enjoy sharing all of the changes and laughing at them. All of my surgies have been a necessity and not cosmetic!!!!

I don't get it Ka. I have at least as much metal imbedded in my skeleton as you do and I never get "wonderful feel downs at the airport". I have even begged for them, but to no avail. The closest I ever came was in Chicago when this 400 pound German woman with an attitude who was working security told me she wanted to do a cavity search. I thought she was a dentist....BOY WAS I SURPRISED!!! Talk about having your inner parts rearranged! Oh well, some folks have all the luck.

OK gang here goes..........The next responder has to fill in the rest of the verses to the song. The last responder has to name the song, the artist and the year it first hit the charts.

Well I'm not braggin' babe so don't put me down,
But I've got the fastest set of wheels in town.

Okay, somebody start filling the rest of the song.

Little Deuce Coup by the Beach Boys sometime in the sixties!!! I still have an album, although it is all scratched up!! I can remember that but I can't remember what I had for din-din last night!

Aliece Sefcik (Lowe)

PS to everyone...It would be nice to expand the information about our families, including our parents and siblings. Either here or on our profiles. It is so neat to see Beverly's mom's picture as she was teacher to some of us. Charlotte, should we post that here or on the profile?

Ka Hughes (Wilfong)

Whenb something comes up to me he don't even try
CAuse if I had a set of wings man I know she could fly

She's my little deuce coupe
you don't know what I got
my little deuce coupe
you don't know what I got

Just a little deuce coupe with a flat head mill
But she'll walk a thunderbird like it's standin' still
She's ported and relieved and she's stroked and bored
She'll do a hunderd and forty with the top end floored

She's my little deuce coupe
you don't know what I got
(again)

There are two more verses and I will let someone else fill them in. I knew right off that it was the Beach Boys, just by the tone of the song.

Right, Aliece, that was all we listened to when we were riding around?
