GOOD JOB KA!! Now be honest, did you look up the verses or did you really remember them? By the way Aliece, "sometime in the sixties" is not an acceptable answer........We need the time of year and the year. Slacker!!

Do you think everyone who has signed on knows about the Message Forum page? I just have to believe that if they were checking it regularly, they would be chiming in. Who is going to finish this song? I started with something easy to get us going. The next one will require some work.

I can set up some questions on the profile page about family. That is a great idea.

Mike, I will put info about the message forum on the home page. Maybe that will spark some excitement.

Way to go on the song.....

Thanks Charlotte!

Mike, June 1963?? Are you happy now or do we have to keep looking? Thanks to you, that song keeps playing over and over in my over-taxed brain as I try to concentrate on doing my taxes!

Becky Teel (Milner)

OK - Mike and Aliece, I want to sit at your table during the reunion! You make me laugh! Charlotte, I just finished using the new feature to post information on my parents and brothers. There was not a moment's doubt of my favorite memory. When I finished my update I checked out your profile update and low and behold my memory was listed as one of your memories! Does anyone know how to reach John Richards?

Aliece Sefcik (Lowe)

Hi Becky!
Do you know what ED is (per my earlier post)? If you know of this well-advertised male problem, would you enlighten Michael? He claims ignorance on this but claims that laughter is what keeps him from getting constipated! That would have been a valuable tip for me in years past! So glad you joined us! We need you!

Big Dad,
What do you think the internet is for. At our age there is no way we could remember all of those lyrics. But, there was a lot of great music during the 60's and I do remember that. I listen to XM radio all the time and it is set on the 60's.

We do need some fun things to list on here. Fred Boston mentioned that we all make a "bucket list". That would be interesting to see!!!! What do you think?

Now you're talkin my language! No better therapy in the world than getting on my 08 Goldwing and crankin up "Surfer Girl", "Kokomo" or a Beatles song, "Day Tripper". When I ride to Tulia, all the farmers can sing along when I ride by.
Ya'll pray for me, I start homeschool drivers ed with my 14 year old daughter this summer. She will be with me at the reunion.
Mike, I see you still sling more BS than anybody I know!! And I am not the quiet, timid kid you see in our grad pics. I have matured into a "AA" personality and may even be able to sling it alongside MH!
Great reading all the posts here. Looking forward to July. No grankids yet, so I don't have a neat granpaw name yet! 5 kids and none are married.
Big Dad, you ever get down this way?
I make some killer coffee at the shop.

Quiet!!! Timid!!! HA! You must be a different Fred Boston than I remember! AL

I always check my MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and Tag. But, I see I have been missing out on the *real* fun here at THS! I go to church with Mike here in Lubbock and if you think he's toned down at church, you're wrong! He's always his lively self! Finding him and Donna when I moved to Lubbock was the best thing about the move!

I am finding out how many of us old class of '69ers are bikers! We should bring our bikes to the Reunion and take a ride together! I understand Jim Carlton doesn't ride any more, but surely he's got a helmet and could hitch a ride.

And, for those of you not so hip as us, I'm not talking about bicycles! LOL!

I haven't been able to ride since my car wreck in August, but I plan to get on soon whether the doctors say so or not. My Red Lady begs to be ridden on pretty days!

Jann Cawthon (Webb)

And somebody tell Walter Oler to go ahead and come to the Reunion. We're too old to hold grudges. I hurt the man bad back in the day and I've been regretting it many a year!

Jann Cawthon (Webb)

And, uh, excuse me... Fred Boston quiet? Timid? Uh, not the one I knew!! You're a legend in your own mind, Freddy boy!

02/19/09 11:31 AM #61

Jann Cawthon (Webb)

Okay, Big Daddy, here goes...

Well I'm not braggin' babe so don't put me down,
But I've got the fastest set of wheels in town.
You can smile, grin, fart, or frown,
But, Tulia's still the sweetest little town aroun'

Is that right?

That's the one me and Sharon Stout used to sing, I'm pretty sure.

Then we'd get a quartet going with King, Kinser, and Kleman! Where are those guys????

02/19/09 02:45 PM #62

Sharon Stout (Curry)

Jann, you have a great memory for songs, and I think a rendition with the 3 K's would be grand! I still have all my teeth with the exception of the 8 I had pulled in high school when Kelly had to nurse me back to health; and a great job he did! I too listen to the 60's and have been amazed by words that were different than the ones I used to sing. Such as "OH a tree in motion" instead of "Poetry in Motion." Hot flashed, no. I have Power Surges. I am a fairly new grandmother and love it. Both girls live in Dallas, so I see my baby about once a month. I now have a new Facebook page. Don't know how to open it, but I'll give it a try today. My daughter set it up, so I'm not to blame for what it says. See ya later

Hey, I would like to know how many of us are bikers. I suggest we work in a ride up through Claude Crossing and back during our activities. All bikers, bring an extra helmet for those that want to ride on the back. I really meant, the ones that haven't jumped off the deep end and bought a bike. Jan, what bike you ride now adays?
Also think we should bring our CD's of Beach Boys, etc. and try our darndest to sound like em!
FRED

Charlotte Grantham (O'Daniel)

Don't you mean 8-tracks of Beach Boys??? I think I still have some.

I don't ride a bike--rode in the '60s though. Have a 4-wheeler now instead of a horse. Does that count?

I think I can add a place for riding Saturday afternoon. Someone else will need to make the plans, however. I will stick it in the activities and you can see what happens. Of course, you have to get to Lubbock on time for dinner.....

02/20/09 12:09 AM #65

Fred Boston

Hey Char, Do you have a player that actually works to play those 8 tracks? You better put it on ebay! That sucker is really rare.
Guess you will have to borrow a bike when we go riding on Sat. I talked to David Kinser tonight and he said he would ride his 800 Vulcan on that Saturday.
I will be glad to plan a ride. I would suggest riding about an hour and a half. That will leave plenty of time for the trip to Lubbock.

I think all of the bikers could follow behind the trailer in the parade. That would show others that we are not really as 'old' as we really are!!!!!!!

02/20/09 10:56 AM #67

Jann Cawthon (Webb)

I always wanted to ride in a parade! It's not as easy as it looks, though!

I ride a Honda Shadow Spirit 750 - named The Red Lady! She's a beaut. I'm putting a pic on my profile.

02/20/09 02:27 PM #68

Jann Cawthon (Webb)

On second thought, how about we put the bikes *on* the trailer. Not sure I want to negotiate those dips on Dip Street! LOL!

Fred Boston

Good luck gettin my 900# missle on any trailer! I would enjoy riding beside or behind it though.

Thanks for bugging me till I checked in, Fred. I found Jack Bailey yesterday, I know where to dig up Lee, I will get in touch with him. Speaking of music, a couple of years ago I was in Oklahoma City and tuned in KOMA (1520 on your radio dial). It's now a talk radio station. Sad.

Joe Don, hey if you know the whereabouts of anyone else please get them to log on and get registered. It is really fun to get on here and see what everyone is doing and see their families. Glad you found us.

Okay gang, I'm back. Some of you may wish I'd stayed away!

Fred and Joe Don...welcome aboard!! Good to hear from you and thanks for being a part of this insanity.

Okay Aliece....E.D. (I'm trying to spare Becky the embarrasment of explaining to me what it is). You are talking about one of two conditions: Earlobe Distension
(known medically as "lobius elongius"). It is a very common condition among older men manifested by enlarging of the ears, especially the lobes to the point that they brush his shirt collar. It is most commonly accompanied by a large amount of hair growing on and out of the distended ears as well as the nostrils. The condition is not life threatening but can be visually disturbing. This "ED" can easily be treated by a plastic surgeon (expensive) or with a sharp pocket knife and a tube of Nair (much cheaper). If this is not the "ED" you were referring to, watch for a full explanation of another "ED" in later posts.

Big Dad

PS I'll be back soon...gotta go shave my ears.

Joe Don:

Awesome post!! Pet Clark was HOT!! The most incredible thing to me was how simple the stage and the costumes were.......No fireworks, no 20 musicians as backup, no blinding light show, no sleazy costumes....Just the artist and a few dancers. Thanks for posting it.

Okay folks. It's time for the next installment of "Finish and Name That Tune"!!!

Somewhere in this popular song were these two lines:

In the town where I was born
lived a man who sailed the sea...........

Somebody finish it and name this tune.
