Mac,

Your son as wonderful as you are.  I am so sorry for such a tragic loss of a great young man.  My love and heart go out to you and your family.

Merry Christmas to the class of 1969

In 2002 I wrote a Christmas poem that I inserted in my Christmas cards.  I hope this is a blessing to someone or two.

                                     The Promise

One can only imagine Mary's feelings when an angel came to her one day.

God chose Mary to bear the Savior who would wash our sins away.

A very humble state she must have felt herself to be,

but God often uses the lowly like you and me.

There was no room for Mary and Joseph in the inn;

However, the baby's birth in a manger would give new life again.

His name would be Emmanuel..."God with us."

A promise meaning that he would never leave us for forsake us.

This little baby Jesus would one day face the test.

He'd sacrifice his life on a cross, so we could enter into rest.

Free from sin, free from fear, free from death, and free from pain.

All this and more the world would freely gain.

Lord Jesus help us to never cease to remember,

how much You suffered for the world by Your life's surrender.

Marcia Morgan

God Bless you, and Have a very Merry Christmas

I love your poem, Marcia.  Perfect......hoping you, too, have a blessed Christmas holiday season.

Aliece Sefcik (Lowe)

Thank you, Marcia, for such a beautiful poem to remind us what the true reason is that we celebrate December 25.

So sad that the birth of our Savior has been pushed aside for the onslaught of commercialism in this country.  Makes me wish for the simple days of childhood in Tulia when businesses were closed on holidays and on Sundays!

A special prayer for those who have experienced heartbreak with death or illness in their families as the holidays can be a difficult time.

Blessed, Merry Christmas to all y'all!

Aliece

I hope it is not too late to add a Happy New Year message...it is still January. I want to thank everyone who writes anything about the 60th Birthday Bash. It is slowly beginnng to sink in and I am actually able at this point to say out loud that I will be turning 60 this year    !  I am planning to relocate to Lubbock within the next several months and will update my information when that happens...here is hoping someone there needs a good nurse with only a little experience. Everyone keep their fingers crossed for me!

For those of you that have asked about Ronnie in the past, he had another surgery in January.  They figured out that his real problem was in his lower back, L5 - L3, (for those of you that understand medical terms).  Well, he now has feeling in his legs.  The only problem is the muscle spasms that keep giving him pain, otherwise he is doing great.  He has not started walking with out the walker yet or therapy.  I am hoping he can make the 60's Bash in June.

For those of you that are aware of the fires that were in the West Texas area on Sunday, Feb. 27th, Herbie Payne and his wife lost their home and only got out with the clothes they were wearing.  The did save their dog and a pick-up.  Please keep them in your prayers as well as all the other people in the area that lost their homes and personal belongings.

I have some good news for a change!!  I am "FINALLY" going to be a Grandmother! Kirk and Julie  are pregnant and due on my B-Day Oct 21. We are very excited to join the ranks of grandparents.

I have to remind you also to behave yourselves when you are out and about! Hyman Sauer and William Edmiston DVM reported on seeing Mac Devin DVM in Eldorado recently,he was behaving, but Hyman told some stories about Mac And Kelly Ewen while they were in school at Tech. I had forgotten that Kelly and Mac were roommates. It is a small world.

Looking forward to the "60 Birthday Bash". I need to hear from you about the Rockbox performance. The deadline is May 10 to be able to refund $, after that we can add #'s but the $'s aren't refundable. It is a Branson like performance with lots of music [golden oldies] and comedy, very much fun. Takes you back to the "Good Ole Days" .The tickets ar $27.06 each, you can mail me a check to 711 Ranchview Dr, Johnson City, TX, 78636. Get your hotel reservations made also. Fredricksburg is a great place to visit and we will have a memorable time together.

I also hate reporting sad news, but, we need to keep up with each other.  I received an e-mail about Johnny King.  He and his wife, Diane, lost their son recently.  I do not have any details or an obituary.  I do however have an address if you would like to send a card.  I know from experience that he would love to hear from some of his class mates.  Also remember to add them to your prayer list.

See you in June.  Made my room reservation last week.

Good morning Princess, the check is in the mail....and great news about becoming a grandmother ...there is absolutely nothing that compares to that joy! Next is the task of deciding what to be called! My girls went on line for ideas since each of their mothers-in-law had an existing grandmother name....what ever it is will be so precious. My girls are each expecting again, Morgandy will deliver on the unit where I work in late Sept. and Candice is expecting somewhere in early to mid-Jan. Candice's daughter, Eliana (my oldest granddaughter) was recently diagnosed with ALL Lukemia and has a Caring Bridge site at this address https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/elianauribarri . She began chemo less than 24 hours from the diagnosis and has responded very well to this first stage of her 2 1/2 year protocol. You are all welcome to visit the site and follow her journey...all prayers are appreciated. God has been so good to this family and has answered prayers from all over the country on her behalf.

Thanks Princess and Kelly, for all your hard work.  It will be perfect.....I can't wait.

For all of you in the Tulia area, a friend of our family has lost her dog.  Her name is Chris Holly.  Her phone number is 627-4199.  On May 10th her dog disappeared.  He is a black lab with a spot of white on his neck under his chin.  He is about a year old and had his collar on.  His name is Buster.  Chris lives west of Tulia  on County Road 9 about 3 miles out of town.  Chris is close to 80 and this dog has been her constant companion since last fall.  She is heartsick and asked me if I could get the word out about her dog.  She has checked with the local vets and animal control centers, put an ad in the paper, and driven far and wide looking for him.  She is offering a reward for his return.  I would ask you to talk to your neighbors and friends and let them know about Buster.  Thanks for your help!
