I really hate it when all we are posting is sad news!  Please keep the Harris family in your prayers right now.  Peggy, Shelly, Rodney, Polly, and Melody Harris ~ Their mom was found on Sunday morning.  Not much information right now, so just pray that God gives them strength to face the coming days.

Shirley Morgan and I had fun today - a 2 1/2 hour lunch!!  Granted, very little time was spent eating and much of the time was spent catching up.  We plan to do it again soon and we would love for anyone interested in joining us to let us know when you can/will be in Lubbock and we will plan the next one around your availability to join us.

Ka, it was great to see you in Ruidoso last weekend.  I'm so sorry you had to go home to such sad news.  I'm sure you have been able to provide much needed comfort to Christy and Harold.

A big thank you to Henthorn Construction for building a Battery Joe's store so close to my house!  Mike, I have been there twice in the last 10 days and before you make a comment...

I bought a battery for my camera and another one for a garage door opener!  No matter what I need, they have it!

I hope everyone has had a good summer and that a pleasant fall arrives soon!

It really was  fun lunch, Becky. I was telling my girls about it and told them how we kept talking on the veranda after the place closed at 4 and them talked all the way across the parking lot to our cars. If anyone else can join us one day, you will enjoy it too. Lubbock keeps feeling more and more like home. I would love to see more rain...bet all can agree on that!

We talked about how much fun Becky missed at the Birthday Bash....I had not had that much fun is such a long time......emphasis on TIME....how quickly it speeds by. Let me add my kudos to the great job of planning and organization done by Princess, Kelly, and Char!

I am now working nights at the L&D Unit....talk about a change in old habits! I really feel like I am adjusting well and taking it in stride. I had to work through Picnic and am looking forward to finding out more about the gals trip to Europe. Take care everyone and hope to see more familiar faces soon.

As I look over the bunch that showed up for the 60's Bash I couldn't help but think what a fun group that must have been.  God only knows what was revealed.  You know that secrets start coming out as we get older.  I wish I could have been there.

I now know more than I thought that I ever would about Post, cereal, corn flakes and such..........geeeeeeee!  And what is going on in Lubbock?  Those lunches.............?

I see that so many of us are losing the Jewels of our families, our parents.  Mac, Sarah and Rodney...........I hope you are all well, I miss my parents alot but have incredible memories as I'm sure that you all do.

I'd like to know who up there is causing this drought!  I heard it might rain next year but I'm not counting on it.

Mark

Becky, please let me know when yall are planning another lunch date and I will make arrangements to join you.  Thanks, also, for the encouragement during the sad time for Christy and Harold.  It has been a long 2 months for them and all of the family.  They are now awaiting the joyful birth of Justin's baby in December.  Trust me, that child will be loved by sooooo many people in town and the community.

I always hate it when all we get to post if sad news.  We need some exciting events to start popping up on this site.

Merry Christmas from Lubbock!

Ka, my lunches are once again only 30 minutes long (on the good days) so it will be awhile before I can enjoy another  lunch outing with friends.  I was asked to fill in for a counselor who is on maternity leave for 3 months.  I will finish that job in early February so let's try to get some of us together around that time!

Charlotte - I hope you are on the mend!

Wishing everyone a Happy 2012!!

Thanks for posting, Char!  No, I'm not getting emails - I really don't know what else to try (except maybe a new internet provider - and that might not be far away).  So sorry to hear about Vicky...

Charlotte, thank you for the information about Vicky.  Saw this on web this morning.

I would like to contribute to the fund.  Do I make the check payable to you and what address to mail it to?

You do such a great job of keeping our class connected and I appreciate you so much!

Some of you are on Facebook and already know our big news.  I thought I would go ahead and spread the word because I keep hoping the shock will eventually wear off if I talk about it enough...

Our older daughter, Lael,  is pregnant and had a sonogram this week which revealed that they are having twin boys!!  That in itself is fun to think about...HOWEVER please keep in mind that when those baby boys arrive they will have a brother 10 1/2, a sister 8 1/2, another sister barely 6, another brother barely 3, and another sister 19 months old.  They have always talked about having six children and this is an added bonus!  They are super excited about it - I'm just wondering how I can ever keep up!  Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.

The Class of 69 has lost another classmate.  Sandy Carter Valko died yesterday, April 13, in Wichita, Kansas.  Jo reported to me a few weeks ago that Sandy had undergone surgery similar to that she had around the time of our 40th reunion.  Unfortunately, she experienced the same type of complications and was unable to recover.  Please keep Jo and their mother, Juanita Carter, in your prayers.
