Jann,
That teacher was Mrs. Sharp and she did leave at semester.
Danny and I still can recite the prologue to Cantebury Tales. She must have really drilled that into our heads if we all remember it after all this time.

Jann! Thanks for posting youtube! That must be MH in his Alcoa Aluminum Cap! I knew it, I just knew it!!

Ooohhh, I remember Mrs. Sharp. She never, not once, joined in our happy times!! (Is that proper English?)

Hey gals, you will never guess it, but Mrs. Sharp, after a few years, started teaching at Tulia Jr. High. I started there in 1973 and she was there. She, her husband Jack, and I became very good friends. We still visit today....She did have a rough year (1/2 year) that year. I didn't have her. I had Mrs. Clower. You all really put her through it.

Hey, Mark, speaking of bike riding, do you remember that I too had a Cushman and we rode together? I got it for my 12th birthday---don't know the year model. I rode that thing to town to summer band our 7th grade year. I was able to put my French Horn on the front of it and I took the back road to town. So see, I could join the "bikers club."

This forum has gone crazy. It took me about an hour to catch up from all that went on this weekend. Maybe I won't wait so long before reading next weekend.

Fred Boston, you old closet hippie biker! You are right.
Steppenwolf, Magic Carpet Ride, 1968. I can't top Aliece's last post, but I'll dig for another soon.

It's really great to see everyone getting involved with this forum. Kinda like passing notes in class....

Be well, be happy!!

Which teacher was it that took us to Plainview to see Romeo and Juliet?
The one that showed Olivia Hussey's bare hiney?

Oh, yeah, that was our English class. What you gotta' talk about bare hineys for? Well, if you want to watch the old movie again, here it is:

My grandaughter, Lainey, got her first Barbie this week...a party favor at a Barbie party for four year olds. She is smitten.

Saw this headline: BARBIE TURNS 50 on Newsweek today. Took me right back to Tulia, 1959, Bob's Super Market toy aisle (wasn't it Bob's in that strip center on the highway? Tot-to-Teen shop was there, too...and Bruce's grill). Still have that first edition, $3.00 Barbie - soft black hair (never took the ponytail out and her bangs are still curly!), black and white striped strapless bathing suit, and heels. My own girls had too many Barbies to count...world culture Barbies, disco Barbies, and all kinds of Barbie paraphernalia. It was a Barbie Town House that kept my husband and brother in law busy for hours one Christmas Eve in the 80s...ahh, Barbie memories!

I love hearing what everyone's grandkids call them. My first grandchild called me Mammaw. Then the next one shortened it to Mamms, but now has changed it to Mamzah! My granddaughter in Florida decided to call me Granma for some reason. So, I'll answer to anything.

Great music, Ka! For some reason it reminds me of the many hours in the Stouts' basement listening to the Righteous Brothers along with all of the good music of the era...

Joe Don, very interesting. I presume that was part of the 1999 Drug bust story. I did not see it on T.V. Some of the other clips are very intertaining. Good Show.

The big bad Tulia Hornet reminds me of Johnny Stringer, only this one had a liitle more weight on it!

Hey Jann, You keep that healthy fear of the geese in Lakeland. I lived in Brandon about 45 minutes to the west of Lakeland and spent many weekends there for soccer tournaments. These birds are well known all over the state not just as a threat but as man eaters. Even though they are protected by local laws, every 3-4 years there is a story of one of them being killed - most likely self defense. They are proof that birds are direct descendant of dinosaurs. These birds are nothing but raptors with feathers glued on. So with this thought in mind keep your bread crumbs to yourself.

For a side note on the English teacher for the last half of our Senior year beside the Canterbury Tales, the thing I remembered most was how she would sit on top of her desk with her legs uncrossed. You could see ever boy in the class lean over. There were times that I feared Mike Crouch and Mike Henthorn were going to have neck injuries - the cost of sitting up front. Since I always sat in the back, I was able to have a view without any body dislocation.

"They are proof that birds are direct descendant of dinosaurs. These birds are nothing but raptors with feathers glued on."

Jerry, thank you, thank you, thank you! You have now made me not feel so ridiculous about my fear of geese!!! LOL! I was chased and bitten one time in the 80's and thus my fear.

I love Lakeland, love Brandon, too. I'd move to Florida in a heartbeat, but I have my dad to take care of for now. My son-in-law and daughter moved there for a job with Publix and thus we all fell in love with Florida. As soon as my son got married, he and his wife moved there. My daughter and family were there 3 years and couldn't stand being so far from family. So, they've movd back, but now regret it. They're looking for an opportunity to move back to Fl and then I will surely have to drag Dad there to live nearby.

I like living in Lubbock, but there's nothing like being close to the beach and Disney.

I'm pretty sure this guy graduated THS 1969, but who is it? Just kidding!

Jann, my dad's mailman is Don Hall and he lives north of Tulia on the old Amarillo highway (that's the dirt road that runs beside the Tulia International Airport). When I go to his house and visit, I call ahead so he can meet me in the drive. Otherwise, his goose will attack anyone that does not live there. He sure got me once. I guess I have that same phobia, now!

I wish someone would name the people in the last reunion photo. I think I recognize a few people - Mike Big Daddy Henthorne, Princess, Kelly Ewen maybe...

Someone please give those faces names for me!

Here, Jann, you've got to feed the phobia. It's on youtube, so it must be true

Hi everyone!!

Fred Boston called and made me feel like a 2%'er because I had not signed in.

I have a song that hasn't been thought of. This is a line from the middle of it. "Kid, we don't like your kind and we're going to send your fingerprints off to Washington."
