Sadly, Mike passed away on June 7, 2023.
Michael J. Murnane, LTC, USA, RET was born on August 24, 1943, and died on June 7, 2023, in Philadelphia, PA from Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Susan Murnane (nee Hughes) and his only brother Fr. ThomasMurnane OSA. Mike is survived by numerous cousins and friends.
Mike proudly served his country for 21 years in the continental United States, Vietnam, and Germany. His awards anddecorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and three awards of the Meritorious Service Medal.
Following his retirement from the Army in 1988, Mike was an associate professor of History at Valley Forge MilitaryAcademy until 2002.
Mike was a compassionate man and faithful friend who loved his family both immediate and extended passionately. A cherished friend, Mike, will be deeply missed. Go Terps!!!
