Nancy Louise Epperson-Hearrell was born May 31, 1961, in Portland, Oregon and died January 3, 2017 in Houston, TX.
After moving to Houston, Texas, Nancy attended Westchester Junior High and Westchester High School, where she graduated in 1979. During high school, Nancy excelled at competitive diving and focused on the 10-meter platform. She was both an accomplished gymnast and a swimmer.
In Girl Scouts, she completed a backpacking trip over the Continental Divide in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. A girl of many talents, she also was a talented piano player and had a pitch-perfect voice.
While attending Texas A&M University, Nancy lettered as a member of the diving team. She enjoyed the arts as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and rock climbing, frequenting Enchanted Rock in the Texas Hill Country near Fredericksburg. After graduation, Nancy (class of ‘83) began her successful career in accounting with Motorola Communications. Along her career path were promotions and the title of Certified Public Accountant.
Nancy is predeceased by her parents, Horace and JoAnn Epperson. She is survived by her husband Raymond Hearrell and her children: Christi Howell, twins Robert Howell and Carolyn Howell (TAMU ‘15), and Elise Hearrell. She is also survived by three older sisters, Marcia Davis, Patti Volker and Judy Epperson and their extended families.
