I got my bachelor's degree in Russian from OSU in 1972 and my master's degree in Library Science from the University of Michigan in 1973. I worked at Armco Steel for a year and left because I didn't like that job. I worked at the University of Kansas from October 1974-June 1978. That was my dream job, but I left it to be with John. I worked at Wayne State University July 1978-December 1981. It wasn't working out well with two of us working and a baby, one of us was always sick. So, I stayed home with kids the next 14 years. I guess that was my retirement.
I now work at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. I try to take one major trip a year. At first it was as a chaperon with the kids' groups. Now I travel with Earthwatch, the Kalamazoo-Pushkin Partnership and American Friends of Russian Folklore.
