Leslie, I suppose we could do a survey to see who wants to see your sunburn.

Lu, Great pictures of your Christmas.

Rich, LOL LMAO

Lu and I had laughed about that and i just had to share it with Tom. As for the survey NOT!!! I'm afraid my feelings would get hurt. But you can share the laughter.

Leslie, My brother "Bill Boy", as everyone calls him, farms for Bill Schroeder (Jean Miller's hubby). He has worked there since he was in high school. He just had back surgery to fuse L4 and L5. Lives about a block this side of Mom and Dad's old house. We sold their house last year. Hard thing to do....but, life goes on.

GRAB, I'm partial to "Vettes' "Little Bit A Love"....."B" side of Our Love Won't End. I had the 45 at one time, but had a little chip on the edge. What I wouldn't give to turn back the clock to that July Saturday night in 1966. That was a fun, carefree summer. Life was mighty simple. I believe Ronnie Wagner was there that night. Remember Ronnie ? Rhea Stewart and Lloyd Wagner's nephew. Guitar picker, if you recall. I am still in touch with him. He is in Cincy, OH. He was home about three years ago and we all drank a few beers over at Grumpy's Garage that night. Life-long friend, for sure. He has a part-time gig as a professional beer taster for company that test beers for the "micro - breweries".

Rich, I turned my girlfriend Drucy (70' Lincoln) to our website and she's jealous. She lives in Florida now but I think she wants to come to our reunion in 2010. Another pat on your back for your efforts and hard work.

Tom, It is still amazing to drive by the old school site almost everyday, and to see the apartments that are now there. My kids don't even remember the school being on the site. (I only live about 1 mile north of town, for the ones that aren't familiar with our location.) I also listened to your music. Great Job!!! It does bring back memories of the old skating rink. I don't think I went often. It seemed like several birthday parties were held there a FEW YEARS BACK!!!!! LOL Dick, I join Leslie and others to say thanks again for the work on this site. I read the messages all the time, even if I don't respond often. I'm trying to find Rhonda Burcham's address & email so she can join in on the fun. Thanks again, Jean

Jean, You did notice several posts back (Saturday night), that you got the blame for me & Summy's little run-in with the "long arm of the law" back about '72 or so. Go back and read it...see if you remember it. BTW, are you also using HTML code in your messages now ? If so, you forgot to turn off your (i) after "Great Job" Music Pirate Grabbe, Oh my.....my supposedly iron-trap of a memory has failed me. I hate to admit it.....and for everyone at this site to see ! I'm so ashamed. I told you "Vette recording of Little Bit Of Love was "B" side of Our Love Won't End, of course that is wrong. "B" side was Tears Are Free. Wasn't Little Bit Of Love on flip side of Definitely Dixie ? To all: I have sent word to Kathy Curry via her nephew about this website.

Definitely Dixie was on the same disk, but A Little Bit of Love was the A side. I'm pretty sure.
Don't sweat the memory crap, just keep putting it out there.

I do remember Ronnie, but barely. I do agree, it would be great to go back to that night. Oh Well, we do have the memories.

For anyone that might be interested, we are supposed to once again, be getting a new tavern in Freelandville. It is going into the old Strate & Pielemeier Hardware building, more recently Ray "Sawdust" West's cabinet shop and private residence. Larry "Two-Ton" Toney purchased the building and his recently divorced daughter, Susan (NKHS '73), will manage the business and live on the second floor. Not sure of projected opening date.

Tom, Sorry, I'm just learning this new way to post messages! Bill & I really don't remember you and Mike at the drive-in. Maybe we are trying to erase that memory from our brains forever!!!!!! LOL On the tavern update, I thought Colby, Susan's son was going to live upstairs and Susan was going to live in Alice's house. Maybe just gossip!! I would like to remind everyone to still keep Ruth Hagemeier Wesner's family in your thoughts & prayers. Neva is still in very serious condition.

Tink & Pat (ala Peter & Gordon / Chad & Jeremy) I have "pull" with Susan....can probably get us the job on a Saturday night. Jean Looks like you're doing good job with HTML codes. This site will only allow limited codes. I am almost afraid to try the "background" HTML code. I might block - out the whole damn page with my background. Google HTML codes for complete list of colors, how to create hyperlink /text, etc. You could be right on Susan. More likely, Susan would get the house. Poor Larry, just has to keep shellin' out the $$$$$$$$$$$$.

Tom, I had to share this story because it's music related, and I just heard a Paul Anka song on your play list. Many years ago I was covering a shift as a Cigarette Girl at The Riveria. Paul Anka was appearing in the lounge so his music would play on the musak 24/7. This one particular evening I was back in our room loading my tray with lighted novelty item etc to sell in the showroom. All of a sudden I hear the song playing "Diana" and that was an all time favorite of mine that my sisters use to play. Well I'm belting this song out enjoying every moment of it. I turn around to walk out the door and there was Paul Anka standing there and he smiled and said "I'm so flattered." I however was so embarrassed. Bottom line, he didn't offer me a back job.

I think i forgot the word "up" on my message. Paul Anka didn't offer me a back up job. lol

Summy Just got e-mail from Crisco !!! He said the nightclub at 6th and St, Clair was called LUMS. That is correct. Featured hot dogs steamed in beer. Many, many under age patrons. He was there the night the cops raided the place !!!!! RE: Indy strip club songs: Shake, shake, shake....shake, shake, shake...shake your booty.... Play that funky music......white boy !!!! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Leslie I told you some of our funniest stories can't be told at this site. Summy being pulled on stage by the dancin' girls at the notorious Indy strip bar The Goobler's Roost is one of them, for sure.

Greene County Daily World newspaper has a picture and article on NK graduate and former lawmaker John Gregg that some might be interested in. He has written a book entitled "From Sandborn to the Statehouse" and will be appearing Friday morning in Linton to sign copies. You can read the article on http://gcdailyworld.com.

Kathy, when i read that story a face appeared before me of who i thought i remembered John Gregg being, and I was right. My my quite a distingushed and enterprizing young man. Makes me even more motivated to finish my book which entails my years behind the bar, poems written about me on napkins, and drinks I've created over the years. I may have a best seller on my hand. lol Well for sure it would be fun reading.
