The Desert Storm slideshow was something else!!! I remember when you were over there. My 12 year old grandson was impressed with the slideshow also. I sent it to his email so he could watch it again and share with his friends I'm sure. Thanks!!!

Leslie, Go to your profile page. I have taken it upon myself to embed Leslie's Music Player there. So far, it only has one song it.....and of course, that would be those #@^%?&$%? Bee Gees and their #$@#$ song.."Love You Inside and Out". Since Dick has given me full access/ editing to his site, I was able to sneak in the backdoor at your profile page and embed a PlayList. Let me know any other songs you would like for me to add. As far as buying me drinks all night long at our next reunion, well, that won't be very many drinks.........as this lonely old man goes to bed about 9:00 pm on Saturday nights !!!

Tom, your "Tink's Corner" has started out very good with the invasion of the Beatles. Wow, look what they started all those years ago! I'll always prefer their early music, like the songs you picked out. Songs you can actually sing to. Keep up the good work.
Umm, I went to Leslie's profile and Jerry Lee was crooning 'Somewhere over the Rainbow'??
=================================================

OOOPS !! I PUT WRONG MUSIC PLAYER AT HER SITE !!!

Tom Held

Luellen, OK.....all is good now in "Music Player Land" !! That Bee Gee bunch is singing at Leslie's profile and "The Killer" is crooning "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" at my profile !!! Lu, thanks for pointing out my error. P.S. - Tell Jeff the detour sign is still pointing the correct direction......but, I thought seriously about it !! How could I have missed seeing "T.V. Tommy Ivo" come through Kraut Town back in '68 ?? Geeeezzzz...the bad luck ! I did get to see "T.V. Tommy's" early 1960's top fuel car at Tony Schumacher's "open house" at his shop out at Brownsburg at Indy Nationals in 2007. They fired it up, too !! Wooooooooooooo !!!! Still excites me just as much as it did when we went to our first NHRA Indy Nationals back in 1969. Has Jeff been out to all the new NHRA shops at Brownsburg, just down St. Hwy. 136 from Clermont ? AWESOME EXPERIENCE !!! Open houses on Friday of Labor Day weekend. I'll meet you guys there next summer !!!

Wow Tom, what a wonderful surprise that was for me. You know how some songs just do it for ya, well that song just warms my soul. Thank you so much (how much) sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!! Listen here mister mister at our reunion in 2010 you'll not be going to sleep at 9:00 pm. ok Since I really know nothing about computers does that music box let me put in more of my favorites? I've really been under the weather since I got home, guess I'll break down and go to the Dr. tomorrow so I can get back to my old self. Leslie, I will have to add songs to your music player. You can't access it, because it is in my username. Tell me what songs you want on it and I will search around for them.

Lu, I got on this evening and I saw the headlines of me being famous. The first thing I thought was OMG Rich is posting my sunburn pictures. (lol) What a pleasant surprise for us all when it was my ugly bartender pics. That was a really fun time in my life. Aloha

Henry,

I was just remembering that you use to work at IGA and I wanted to share this story with you. When my niece Kris was little she use to always call the IGA... E Ji A. I have no idea what language that was but then she also use to call RC Cola (Arse). Then from there she graduated Salutatorian of her class. So I guess ya just never know.

Leslie,

Your right that I worked at the IGA in Bicknell thru high school. She must have been a pretty smart young lady to become the Salutatorian. I guess you have been away from this area long enough to know we Hoosiers, especially Southern Hoosiers just talk a little different than some parts of the country. :)

I am trying to put new music on my profile page every couple of days, for anyone that cares to check it out. Want to keep it fresh. I just got home from work a few minutes ago, but nobody's here. Hmmmmmmmm ??? I can almost here my echo in here. Hello..(hello)....(hello).......(hello).........(hello).......?????? It's kinda lonely.....guess I'll just go to bed. Good night.....

Luellen Byrer (Miller)

Leslie! I'm betting Rich is just trying to decide how much $$$ to ask as blackmail to keep the 'burn pics off the website. lol

Good night Tom.

Oh, and Leslie - your U.G.L.Y. picture reminds me alot of your sister Terri. My cousin Gordon was married to a wonderful lady Pam Harmon Taylor (deceased) who worked for the MD Foundation and helped to sponsor those U.G.L.Y. contests, mostly around Indiana I think. Or maybe she was in Hawaii too???

OK Tom, I'll try to not give you a heart attack, but I do not see John Denver on any of your upcoming playlists. I lived in Colorado for five years, 1970-1975 and always loved his music. The BeeGees, I also like Leslie.

NO DICK...........PLEASE, NO........TELL ME IT'S ALL A BAD DREAM. First, it's Leslie and her Bee Gee's, now it's you and John Denver !!!!!!! (Help me...someone call an ambulance...I'm having a heart attack !!!) Alright Dick & Leslie, this means war. I'm bringin' out the big guns !! Checkout my music player at my profile page......13 of the best rockers I can think of right off the top of my head. Oh yes, see that volume control on the right side of the player ? C-R-A-N-K.....I-T.....U-P !!!!

Tom,
Good to see Gretchen Wilson on the list. Thanks

Leslie Jones (Palcovic)

Jeff,

I loved your picture on the home page. I even knew it was you. You were always one of my heros. Was that football playing as much fun as sliding down 6th street?
We did have the best street in town for sledding.

01/24/09 02:07 PM #641

Tom Held

Anna, How much do you want to bet, that Dick & Leslie have never heard of Gretchen Wilson ! Summy I'm sorry, but ole Waylon slipped my mind, when creating my music player. I can't recall.....did I ever tell you the story of coming upon Waylon's tour buses in northern Indiana ?

Tom, Is Gretchen Wilson A Redneck Woman, that's Here for the Party? Gotcha!!!!!!!!!!! Remember I was a bartender at one bar in LV that had a CD player that downloaded from the internet. At least 2 Saturdays a month we had partys for people that worked at Sam Town (red neck, rodeo Casino) All I really know is I'm so glad I grew up when music was music. However if my grandson makes it big with his band maybe they can get music back to music. Leslie, OK...........You get a passing grade on Gretchen Wilson. I am still waiting to hear from Dick "we've only just begun...white lace and promises" Finke. Hmmmmm....The Carpenters ???????.......I think Dick was in that "centrifuge" too long !!!!!! Anyone who hasn't checked out Leslie's grandson's band (THE CAB) at YouTube, treat yourself. They truelly have the talent to make it....just need that big break.

I am off to work on this Saturday night, but wanted to leave Tom with some words from a great song.
____________________________________________________

We've only just begun to live,
White lace and promises
A kiss for luck and we're on our way.
And yes, We've just begun.

Before the rising sun we fly,
So many roads to choose
We start our walking and learn to run.
And yes, We've just begun.

Sharing horizons that are new to us,
Watching the signs along the way,
Talking it over just the two of us,
Working together day to day
Together.

And when the evening comes we smile,
So much of life ahead
We'll find a place where there's room to grow,
And yes, We've just begun.

______________________________

Tom, I'll have to admit I did not know who Gretchen Wilson was. I guess I won't be in charge of the music for any future reunions.

Dick Seriously, you must do yourself a favor, search YouTube for "Gretchen Wilson - Redneck Woman". She is from smalltown in Illinois, about an hour east of St.louis. Tended bar and lived in mobile home. Went to Nashville to "give it a shot" and hit it big. She is a "breath of fresh air" in the "stale atmosphere" of today's so called country music. In short...."what you see is what you get". Oh, since you are such a Carpenter's fan, did you know that the song We've Only Just Begun was taken from a TV commercial for a bank in the L.A. area ? Leslie, Have you checked your music player at your profile for the new song I added ? I think you'll br pretty happy with my selection !!

Leslie,

Both the sledding down Sixth Street and the football were fun, but one thing is pretty certain, I could get in those football pants now about like I could sled down Sixth Street. I've packed on just about a smooth 100 pounds from that picture. I agree with Lu about your picture looking like Terri.

I remember one time you and some other girls came home from somewhere and you thought somebody had been in your house. You came up to my house and asked if you could spend the night. I got up during the night and went to the bathroom. There were slips, can cans, bras, etc. everywhere. I thought I was dreaming about being in a Victoria's Secrets store. (Probably didn't exist at that time, did it.)

Dick,

Picture surprised me. The site is great, I read it every day, especially the escapades of Tom and Mike.

Tom and Mike,

Never did run much with you guys, but I wish I would have known then what I know now. Sounds like you guys had a lot more fun than what I did, (spending time and money with girlfriend(s)). Hey Tom, Leslie likes the Bee Gees song; Dick, the Carpenters; how about some Righteous Brothers for me?

Hey, Jeff. I see you live in Bridgeport. My oldest son Derek Archer and his wife Allison both teach at Red Hill High School. Derek is the girls track coach and an assistant football coach. Small world.

I enjoy reading everyone's posts. This is a great site for all those who participate and hats off to Tom and Rich for all their effots to make this site so interesting and fun to visit.

Leslie Jones (Palcovic)

Tom, You are the GREATEST!!!!!!! Such a brown noser. As I was reading I was just getting ready to write down the words to We've Only Just Begun, then I saw where Rich beat me to it. I sang that song in many a wedding. Now if anyone wants to hear my Grandsons Band the Cab you can go to my profile. "I'll Run" this is the title song off of their new CD and was on the soundtrack from the movie House Bunny.

Jeff, what's really strange is I do remember that little overnight venture but I can guarantee you none of the frilly "chick" stuff was mine. I had to be 7 or 8 years old. Did you see any shows while you were here? I was thinking about that sledding down 6th street and do you remember we station ourselves down the street and jump on to the peron on top? I remember your Dad started, then my Mom, then Jack, Terri, you and me. Boy that was the good ole days.

01/24/09 10:10 PM #648

Leslie Jones (Palcovic)

Jeff, I was just thinking about this and wondered if you had the right answer. Since your Dad is married to my Aunt does that make us cousins?

01/25/09 12:18 AM #649

Leslie Jones (Palcovic)

Tom.

I'll give you a few of my other favorite songs, but don't give me any crap.

1. I Had The Time of My Life... This song was from my favorite movie and my favorite line from that movie was "Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner" Name that movie?
2. More Than a Feeling (pleasant surprise huh?

3. Touch Me in the Morning

4. Hollerbach Girl

I'll continue to think of others and I thank you once again
