Kathy , That sunset is looking towards your old home. Not to rub it in, but I am in Phoenix and it is 81. I am going for a walk in the sun. Tomorrow, though I have to go to Minneapolis so the warm won't last for long.

I had to share this story with everyone. You can make what you want of it..........but, it sure makes you wonder. As you may or may not know, Eric Clinkenbeard was the coach of the NKJHS 7th grade basketball team, of which our grandson Hunter Jones is a member. Today, their team traveled to Loogootee to play in a four team tournament. NK won their opening game against North Daviess this morning, but had to play powerhouse Loogootee in the championship game this afternoon. Needless to say, it didn't look good for NK. As expected, Loogootee ran over NK. Midway through the 2nd half, NK was down about 10 points. Then something strange happened. Although NK has had a good season, 99% of their scoring has come from under the basket. They have had absolutely no outside scoring.....that is, until today. With just a few minutes left in the game Hunter puts up a 3-pointer...swish ! Then Blythe Bunte puts up a 3-pointer.....swish ! Then Austin Barnett puts up a 3-pointer....swish ! Then, with NK trailing 31-30 with only seconds left on the clock, Alex Plummer puts up a long 3-point shot......SWISH ! NK wins 33-31. The boys were all in tears in the locker room after the game, feeling that somehow, Eric had a hand in their final victory of the season. As I said, it makes you wonder......

Rich, I thought that scene looked familiar...:) Tom, Thanks for sharing that story...those boys will never forget that game, or their coach, either... Yes Kathy....hard to believe they could have hit all those 3 point shots without some sort of intervention from above. I might mention that I had a similar experience occur the night that my Mother passed away in 1999. That experience left no doubt in my mind, that there is something beyond our earthly existence. Tom, Great job on "Gary Lewis". I particularly liked the video with "Sure Gonna Miss Her". All were great songs. Those top 30 45's from WJPS certainly bring back many memories. Tom, you should have been a writer. Thanks so much for the recap of Gary Lewis. Yes, the WJPS Top 30 really jogged my memory, also. I recall in Jr. High coming home from school on Friday afternoon and turning on my AM radio. The WJPS weekly countdown ran from 4:00 - 6:00. I remember in the spring of 1966, anxiously anticipating hearing the Corvettes' Our Love Won't End to see what number it would be on the countdown. BTW, did you see some of the songs on the WJPS Countdown ? Wow....those seem like such oldies, yet we actually lived those songs ! Tom I just got a new camera last week. You are going to have to put up with some of my pictures until you all start sending some pictures to Tom or myself. I may have to put Leslie's sunburn pictures on as a last resort. Just email the pictures to me at rfinke@bellsouth.net. I say bring on the sunburn pics !!!

Tom, I concur about the sunburn pictures. Of course no one would know it's me because all you see is my fire engine red legs(next to my lily white you know) So don't let anyone know it's me, keep it a secret.

The Gary Lewis and the Playboys was extra good. The story about Hunters game and the aura and results gave me chills.

Connie, So glad to see you found us. Are you still in contact with Donna? When I first got on here and was going down the Classmate Profiles and I came across your name several different adventures and happenings ran through my mind between the two of us. I can still remember all the stuff on your dresser i.e. perfume, powder, brushes, etc. I was envious. I had to share a dresser with Terri and I don't remember having anything. This goes to both Connie and Lu. Ok here's the deal I think if we had some female votes casted in favor of the sunburn pictures, maybe they'll (Rich) will take me seriously. You may even want to send me a belated sympathy card. I was vacationing in Hawaii and 3 of those days I couldn't even walk. I had to crawl to the bathroom and my sister Pam helped lift me up. I even missed a Helen Reddy concert that I had tickets for because I coudn't walk. Maybe I'll make that picture to look like a valentine and send it to everyone for Valentines Day!!!

Oh I also wanted to add a little note to Rich and Tom. The Beer Garden picture of Mike Wolf, the girl with the blonde hair is my girlfriend Drucy. I think I've mentioned her to the both of you on different occasions. Now you have a face with the name. She was Lincoln 70' and her birthday is on 4-1-52 APRIL FOOL's no really it's her birthday. In fact, I may ask her to come to our next reunion.

I see Mike Wolfe pretty regular, but cannot get him to sign in at this site. Says he can't even turn a computer on. He married to the former Vicky Reedy of Carlisle. Her brother Gary Reedy has a country band and Mike said he will sit-in with them once in awhile.

1969 Henry Archer, Jr.

I recently learned the NKHS Class of 1969 is planning it's 40th reunion. The reunion is scheduled for June 6th in Vincennes. I am sure some of you may be interested in knowing about this reunion, so I will pass along what I know as information becomes available for those who are interested.

Tom and or Lu, I can't remember which one of you commented on listening to The Cabs song "Bounce" but I did want to follow up on that. On ESPN when they have a weekly review of events and show scenes that go along with the story, well they play "Bounce" during that, and the info line flashes across the botttom ...music by The Cab. Just wanted to share that with you

Welcome to the site, Connie. Jump on in the forum!

Tom, thanks for sharing the basketball story. What a memory for those boys! I wonder if Gord & Janet know about it? (I too believe in the afterlife and, thanks to the grace of Jesus, expect to be in heaven someday.)

Rich, your new camera takes great pictures. Don't worry about putting up too many of them - keeps the site interesting.

Oh, and speaking of pictures...Leslie, I will stand up and vote yes to posting your sunburn. But if Rich does not, you gotta send it to me. I can empathize, as I once fried my face and the skin exposed by the v-neck top I was wearing (no picture, tho'). Got sun poisoning, couldn't go to work a couple of days 'cause I couldn't stand to wear clothes. Makes my face hurt now just thinking about it. How did you stand it??

And, Leslie - if your grandson's band is on ESPN, they must be "this close" to making it big! Good luck to them.

Lu, Thank you so much. I was thinking that but I'm figured I was a bit prejudice. I think the song they are working on now will be the one. I has a great intro that grabs you from the start and you have to stand up and shake your groove thing. I little more upbeat with that same great sound.

I thought you might like to see just how orchestrated the media tour is for the crew of Flight 1549. It they are not worn out after this week, they never will be. This information is from my union, USAPA.

Rich, thanks for putting up the woodpecker picture. Next time maybe we'll let everyone guess what kind of bird is in the picture (I thought it was a red-headed woodpecker until I checked our book). Oh, and just so y'all know: Jeff wasn't stuck in a hole in the tree LOL! (go back and read it again).

Happy Birthday greetings to Jeff Siewers tomorrow!

Hey Guys, Just a quick note to let you know I am now in beautiful San Antonio. Wow the valentine from Tom brought back memories. "Love me Always". Does that mean always...like forever? Or always...until you got another girlfriend? Or always...until the end of 8th grade? Or always...as long as I am in possession of the card? I know how shy you are just kidding with you Tom.

I found a real cool service recently on the internet that allows me to log onto other computers from anywhere. It is called logmein.com. You may not have a need for this, but in my case where I am on the road a great deal, I can log on to my computer at home from anywhere in the world. I see the same computer as if I were sitting at my desk at home. The best part is that it is free. In my case, I have been trying to teach my mother to use the computer. I can log on to her computer as if I were at her computer. We can both move the mouse with her in Freelandville and me in where ever. Anyway, if anyone has a need for this just download the program onto your computer, start an account for free, download the program on the computer you want to view, and you are set.

Leslie, Would you believe I can actually remember the first note I got from you in the 6th grade telling me that you liked me ? !! I had my eye on you....even before the note.....just too shy to tell you.

Leslie Jones (Palcovic)

Hey Tom, you probably say that to all the girls. All kidding aside, thanks for the fun memories. Now for the serious...any chance you could put the Cabs "Bounce" on my playlist? I always seem to have a favorite part in songs that I like. It's usually a flute sound or violin sound or the person singing making a sound, so you can probably guess my favorite part of Bounce. Thanks!!

Leslie, The Cab's Bounce is now on your music player. To all: I am hard at work on the March 2009 edition of Tink's Music Corner. Be warned in advance, it is going to be a 180 degree turnaround (music-wise) from what everyone has become accustomed to. Gotta live life on the edge, once in awhile

I believe sitting down from left to right is Jerry Mathers, as the Beaver, June Ward, his tv mother, and Tony Dow, known as Wally, his brother. I am not sure about the two standing. Administrator's note: It is actually June Cleaver played by Barbara Billingsly.....that's OK though !
