1969 Henry Archer, Jr.

Pat...CONGRATULATIONS to you and the family on the new arrival. I suspect this will keep the new dad from playing much golf for awhile.

In reference to the NKHS Reunion question, I have received information from time to time on Facebook. I have been receiving info and invitations to the golf outing and other activities from an Elizabeth Curtis. I do not know Elizabeth, but perhaps some of you may. I believe there is a gathering at the Rod & Gun Club on Saturday, September 12th at 7pm. I don't recall many of the other details without looking them up on Facebook.

Hope this was helpful?

Congratulations Pat on your first grandchild. There is nothing like it!

Lu - I used to walk to get ice cream when I stayed with my Grandma and Grandpa and I ALWAYS got the lemon ice cream. I did not know that was your grandmother.

Yes, the alumni is Sept. 12. Jeff confirmed. His class has had several responses as to attending. It starts at 7pm, then music later.

Kathy! I probably saw you getting ice cream and didn't know it. Where did you grandparents live? and their names?

My grandparents were Landis and Edith Higgins. They lived on West Third Street.

Great picture Tom, I am not sure who he is. I can only guess you, Mike Summers, or Steve Telligman but who knows.

Hey all,
Thought I'd FINALLY jump in----reading the posts about old Mrs. Horn and the grocery on 3rd street (except we used to frequent one across the street from the Tri Kappa; we called it Bud's and Bud Huffman ran it--is it the same one?) triggered such a bittersweet memory, I wanted to share it.

We used to be SO scared to even set a toe on Mrs. Horn's property since all us kids were firmly convinced she WAS a witch. We lived on W. 4th and I had to pass that old house all the time. Usually would RUN past it. One day I found a dime on the sidewalk right out in front of that old ramshackle house. That was a fortune in penny candy for a little kid! I snatched it up and got about a block away when remorse gripped me. In my little-kid head, I decided Mrs. Horn must have lost that money & my conscience couldn't stand to think I might be taking $ from some poor destitute old lady. So I turned around and went back. I stood outside on the sidewalk looking at that scary old house with my knees knocking and finally forced myself up to the porch. I was going to lay that dime on her porch and then run like hell! Got up there and she opened the door and said hello to me. My eyes must have been big as saucers. I had to explain why I was up on her porch and she was the sweetest old thing. She accepted that dime from me like I'd just given her a bag of gold and kept thanking me over and over. I was never afraid of her again and would always wave if I saw her. Kids...!!

Well Pat are you and Ann Grandma and Grandpa? There are so many names now for grandparents ya never know. I think the traditional is the best. When Larry and I were waiting for Alex to be born I decided to be Mimi and suggested larry could be You You but he opted for Sir Lawrence. They are pretty cool and each moment with them is a blessing. However you aren't as young as you use to be and keeping up with them becomes interesting.
Best wishes to you all.

OK, Tom, It looks like Tom and Steve in the back row, and then Mark Otto Sullenger, Mark Telligman, Ed Sullenger, Mike Telligman, Bill Held, and Deidre Sullenger in the front row. We still need to know the birthday suit guy. Keep the pictures coming. They are great. Correct, Dick... Nude sunbather....me !

Leslie
Sir Lawrence, what an idea, maybe so.

Leslie Jones (Palcovic)

Ok Pat, I'm thinking for you perhaps Sir Patrick. LoL
That was funnier than me. I must tell you don't ever do that again. When I'm on stage doing Improv I tell the audience right off the bat if anyone is funnier than I am, to leave right now. Now I just have to figure out a way to put this into my act the next time I perform. If you come up with any more goods ones, pass em on.

08/15/09 01:49 PM #1237

Richard Finke

Leslie, I am wondering how often you perform on stage? Is this something you do often? I would like to hear more about your act. I am sure you are good at it. Any chance for a YouTube of your act for our site????

This is the note I received in an email from my cousin concerning the mastadon. Anyone know more about this??

Although the original message called it a Woolly Mamouth it's actually a Mastodon. It's always something.

These are pictures of a Wooly Mammoth that was uncovered at our Black Panther coal mine on Tuesday 8/4/09. This mine is located just east of Highway 41 near Oaktown, Indiana in Knox County. The Mammoth was buried about 15' deep. The DNR was notified and all of the bones were turned over to the Indianapolis Museum.

WOW !!!! The mastadon find is really exciting. If this extinct creature was just 15' under the ground, you have to wonder what else is down there ????

Rich, I never really thought about having myself taped and put myself on the www. The comedy shops in San Antonio are very limited as opposed to Vegas. However I'm not sure I could really do any taping because I do have some X rated stories and lines. I'm not as bad as Lisa Lampanelli but I'll give that some thought.

Leslie, Do you think you will ever go back to Vegas? I would like to see your act sometime. I am sure you are good.

I didn't even have to click on the paragraph for the identity of this classmate. It is the one and only Moonbeam.
