Tom...I will dig through the oldie pics & see what I can come up with. And yes, it was when we still lived in the country, we were probably only 3-4 yrs old. Truth be known, dad probably still has a carbide light somewhere on the property.

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes, remember it is only a number. I may grow old, but have no plans on growing up! Had the privilege of doing Mr. Bubenzer's funeral. I really consider it a privilege to have had him for a teacher.

I have 2 hours to go here at work and I start a week's vacation! Anyone out there have a round trip air fare ticket to Hawaii, Florida, or a desert island somewhere that they would like to give me? Any help from Rich?

Kathy you went on vacation and didn't invite us? Oh well. It looks to be a good week weather-wise. Enjoy!

Congrats to NK jr high football team. May they continue to do as well through their high school yrs.

BTW, Hunter's girlfriend (Taylor) is Francis Stein's granddaughter. This NKJH football team is an absolute pleasure to watch. They beat mighty Vincennes Clark this year and last year.

Here is part of a nice email I recently recieved from Bob Kolhouse (class of 68) talking about Dave Leroy and the Silver Star he recieved in Viet Nam. He was honored at the recent 68 Class reunion. Here are Bob's comments. Thanks David Leroy.

Funny you say what you did because at our reunion I made a few announcements...one of them recognizing our vets. I said that when the vets from our generation came home they didn’t get the same thanks that guys deserve and get today...so I asked the vets to stand and they got a huge spontaneous applause. But from the first moment when I began contacting classmates I had an ulterior motive. And that was to single out Dave Leroy, a classmate from Bicknell, who won the Silver Star in ’68-69 timeframe. So after the applause for the vets I continued on telling the attendees that the military awards medals for bravery...and we’ve all heard of the Congressional Medal of Honor, and below that are the “Crosses” (Air Force Cross, Navy Cross, etc), and the 3rd highest medal awarded by our country is the Silver Star...same medal for all the services. I went on to read that Silver Stars “are awarded for gallantry in action against an enemy of the United States to anyone who distinguishes himself or herself by extraordinary heroism”. And then I said that we have a classmate who received one...stand up Dave Leroy!! And, I’m getting goosebumps as I type, the entire group simultaneously stood and applauded. I was so proud of him. The next morning Stan Harbin, who was sitting near Dave, said...”it’s not every day that you see tears in Dave Leroy’s eyes”. You know sometimes when you do things you get a satisfied and fulfilled feeling?? Had that feeling times 100!! Still feel all warm and fuzzy about it!

1969 Henry Archer, Jr.

Kathy Adams Dixon of the Class of 1969 passed away last evening after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kathy lived in Alaska and returned home this past summer to attend the Class of 1969's 40th reunion. Kathy's picture is included of with the group photo posted on this site.

I understand her body will be returned home for burial with a visitation on Friday evening at Goodwin's Funeral Home in Vincennes. This is the extent of the information I have at this time.

Please keep Kathy's family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks.

Kathy, You are going to have to quit playing as you always get the answer. I hope you are back in the groove at work after your week off. I had not seen Steve since the 95 reunion at the Elks club in Bicknell.
