Kathy, We were right at the edge of the snow. We just got a pretty ice storm with no damage. I put the pictures on FB. I'll post one here on the home page in a second.

Tom, Thanks for the info on Mike Early. Please keep us posted.

Hi Judy - belated birthday greetings! Hope all your wishes come true.

Ruth - your Christmas light display is great! Even in the daytime. Who needs to leave the neighborhood to check out the lights? (Although it sounds like there's another great display on 10th St. in Bicknell.)

Thanks for posting the awesome ice storm picture, Rich. It's been a messy day here, although there was no accumulation of snow. Best just to stay in with a cup of tea. Would like to wake up to a White Christmas....

Had a short visit with Alisa (Meyer) today at the F'ville nursing home (her dad is there). She looks great! And she promised to get on the web site.

Rich has added a few more classmate pictures from the '68 reunion. If you click on the group photo on the home page, you'll see them first. In the pic of Patty O'Dell Pehowic, the guy in the green behind her is David Leroy, although he's in profile. Thanks for adding them, Rich.

For the last 40 years I always wanted to learn to fly, and now that I know you can do both, I guess I am going to take flying lessons and throw away the guitar.

Pat, I definitely can't play the guitar, but I made a few feeble tries at it. Thanks for the great pictures on your profile page. I am guessing this is the Community sale. I can ID most but can you help me out with the two ladies on the right stirring something and the two men with Fritz. By the way, Jay Singleton may join our site. He tells me you have been exchanging some stories.

Wishing everyone a safe and blessed Christmas.

Pat...thanks for sharing the pictures of mom & dad. Do you know what year?? Did you hear we have another 'Fritz' in the family? Ed' son, Nick & wife, have a new baby boy born Dec. 4, Dad sure is proud to have a namesake.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!! Hope everyone has a great Christmas with their families. If you are traveling, be careful! I don't think in Freelandville, we will have a White Christmas. Maybe a little snow (less than an inch, according to the weather info) late afternoon or evening.

GRAB I sure hope you learn to fly better than what Dick can play his guitar or we all better take cover !!!!! I loved the pics of Fritz & Neva at the Widner Community Sale. Takes me back to "better times" when all our town "elders" (that we looked up to) were still with us. Now the town is slowly fading away and I hate to say it, but we are rapidly approaching the age where we are the town elders. Makes me feel good though, to know Fritz's name will live on for many years to come. Just a quick story about Fritz. When Steve, Mike, Sam & Sonny first opened the old Dutchman Tavern in 1980, there were a lot of negative comments about their new business from certain "older folks" in town. Fritz was one the first of that age group that I can remember to stop in for a cold beer. Fritz, along with Linus Hufnagel, gave the business an "air of legitamacy" by their patronage. This paved the way for many of that generation to come by occassionaly on a Saturday night. Young and old alike enjoyed some good times together for the years the Dutchman was open......thanks in a large part to Fritz.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. I know you all won't feel sorry for me, but I am on a 4 day trip with the airline. It runs the 23rd thru the 26th of December. Right now I am sitting in a hotel in Tempe, AZ on Christmas Eve. Tomorrow it is a Ramada in Philly on Christmas night. We will celebrate on Saturday, the 26th. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.

Not sure what year those pictures were taken, the photos don't have a date on them. I would bet that Tink could get pretty close with the right year. It sure is good to hear about another Fritz. I bet your dad is happy.

Here's hoping y'all had a great Christmas, and wishing everyone a fantastic new year in 2010!

Does anyone keep the tradition of having cabbage on New Year's Day (or did you ever do so)? Or do you have another tradition?

Rich, I guess you made it home for a delayed Christmas celebration. Our little family gathering was on the 27th. When you have time... is there any news on Michael Land's son? And did you ever find out who the classmate was you saw at Meek's garage?

Thoughts and prayers to the family of Spider DeCoursey.

And welcome to the site: Pam, Jay, Allen.

Lu, I made it home for Christmas. We celebrated on the 26th. Mike Land's son, Joel is doing better. Mike says he will make a full recovery, but I am sure this next semester will be a challenge for him as well as the recovery itself.

I think the man I met at Meek's garage was Steve Willams. I thought he said he was in our class, but I found his name in the class of 71. I will post his picture on the home page.

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year. I am off on another 4 day trip tomorrow to make sure all the passengers keep their hands on their laps the last hour of the flight. Can this world get any crazier?????

I guess they will have us all wearing our birthday suits before long. Who knows what is coming in the future with our freedom at stake . I wish we had someone in charge of our country that thought enough of us to act like a big boy instead of trying to blame everyone but himself. Can't wait till November of 2010 so this jerk won't have so much clout.
Sometimes I just have to get it out.

I'm with you, Grab ! This jerk of a president is hell-bent on destroying capitalism and converting the greatest country in history to a 2nd tier European socialist society.
Did you know that if all the bills currently before Congress are passed, the Federal Government will control 71% of the U.S. economy ?
All 435 seats in the House are up for re-election in Nov. 2010. Vote EVERYONE of these career politicians OUT !
In the words of maybe the greatest President ever:

"Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction"
Ronald Reagan

I am aware of those numbers, it's unbelievable. I can't count the times I've contacted Bayh's office and Ellsworth's office and voiced my opinnion. I do not plan on stopping. Those two guys have got to go. Oh I thought Jimmy Carter was the greatest Pres ever. NOT

Someone emailed me a picture of a sweet little girl wearing a sandwich board reading, "I'm already $38,375 in debt and I only own a dollhouse (thank you mr. president)" They say a picture is worth 1,000 words... I'm concerned most about the world our children and grandchildren will inherit.

Happy New Year everyone. I was in bed by 9 pm. I am in Philly this morning and on my way to Cancun; not to stay just down and back to Philly.

Jay and Joe Singleton, Thanks so much for the pictures you posted. Now I know what your families look like since I haven't seen you in probably 40 years. By the way, good looking families. Thanks again.

Apparently you got logged in, Great family picture. Sorry I was out of it when you called, but then (as you know) a lineman sleeps when he gets a chance. It's great to be off call.

By the way HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE.

I am so pleased to see that my good friends the Singleton brothers have joined this site. Now, if they could only get that old geezer Singleton brother to join in....the one with the big bushy beard ! LOL Seriously, it's too bad we all don't have the opportunity to see one another these days. I think the last time we talked was, I'm sorry to say, when Dick passed away. It's been a couple years now since we have had a "Dutchmen Reunion". I really miss seeing you guys and all my old friends. Maybe when Susan Toney gets the "Purple Monkey" up and running, we could all get together (keep your axe tuned-up, Grab) some Sat. night right here in the "Center Of The Universe"and remember the good ole days .....could invite Craiger, Bambino and all.......we might even invite Flintstone ! Hmmmmmmm, well that's a big "maybe" on Flintstone !!!! LOL

Happy New Year to everyone. I posted some pictures of our daughters and their children. Not that we are proud of them or anything!! It is always good to read what everyone is up to. It was good seeing you, Lu, at Seventh Avenue not long ago. Enjoy the New Year. I can't believe it is 2010!!
