Bobbie......enjoyed your pictures, what a tribute to you & Bryce. I do get to see some pictures once in awhile as Barbara keeps me updated.

So we may wake-up to snow tomorrow???????? Just as long as it stays off the roads & sidewalks:)

I think I will take the afternoon off :) ..... Don't tell anyone!!! Have fun Tom, with that RC truck!! Be Careful!!

Hey Jean, I did take the afternoon off with the cancellations I had and moving others to the morning, already had a few to cancel for tomorrow. I give you permission to go home early :)

Hope those that have to drive home in this are careful, there is some drifting around my house and on the roads. Be warm and safe.

I only had to call a wrecker one time this week to pull me out of the snow, when I got hung up in the parking lot at Shelburn Grade School. LOL

Tom, I like the new truck. Can you tell where it was manufactured? We have a big Freightliner plant in Mount Holly, NC next to my town. Keep all the wheels going straight down the road this winter and drive safely ice road trucker.

Hey Tink - was that you in your new RC truck pulled over on side of highway 67 this morning around 0610 between Bicknell and Bruceville???

Dick...Liked the link to the Vietnam Virtual Wall website. When we were in DC I took a picture of John's name, but the name of Jim's friend did not do well. Was able to get the information from the site.

Welcome Janice Hartzburg (Perigo)to our site. I hope you are doing well.

Ruth, I enjoyed the Virtual Wall also. I did not know the two gentlemen from Bicknell, but maybe someone can tell us about them. I thought James Bedell was from Oaktown, but it shows as Vincennes. My sister Nancy knew the wife of Bruce Strate who also shows from Vincennes. Someone sent me the link to it and I thought it was worth sharing.

Welcome Janice!! Tell Dean we said hello! I enjoyed the Virtual Wall too. We saw the Vietnam Wall a few years ago. It was such a solemn time for both of us. We also took pictures of John's name.

Welcome Janice!

The virtual wall is great. We've seen the real thing in DC and the small scale replica that toured the US and made a stop at the GRClark Memorial - both were heartbreaking and impressive. Besides looking up John G, we looked up a cousin of mine, Joseph Lee Chambers of Jonesboro AR.

Re. Terry Michael Ward (also on the wall), I think he went by Mike Ward. Looked in the yearbooks and found his name, but no picture on the page listed. Weird. I think he also has a younger brother Steve Ward, and maybe a younger sister?

My thoughts and prayers are with Brenda and family.

Also, today Jim Beery's wife died in an automobile accident in Terre Haute. Thoughts and prayers are with him, too.

From the Vincennes Sun, here is some information on the accident that claimed the life of Mr. Berry's wife, Merry.

BREAKING NEWS: Oaktown woman killed in accident

Published:
Monday, January 25, 2010 11:35 AM EST
Merry Beery, Oaktown, was killed in a head-on traffic accident on Indiana 63 south of Prairieton in Vigo County Sunday morning.

Police reports say Beery was driving north on Ind. 63 in a blue Toyota when she lost control and struck a black pickup.

Beery was a longtime member of the board of trustees of the Knox County Public Library. She and her husband, Jim, a member of the Knox County Council, were parents of Olympic gold medal winner Dan Beery.

1969 Henry Archer, Jr.

Did anyone know Scott Robbins of Freelandville who recently passed away? I worked with him many years ago at Edwardsport Generating Station. I was curious if he has been sick or this was something unexpected.

Thanks!

Henry

Welcome Sarah! Wish I were in the tropics right now.

Tomorrow I will be married to a real old man. Jeff hits the big 6-0. Makes me feel real young. lol (Rich, please tell your mom happy birthday tomorrow.)

01/30/10 01:28 PM #1471

Richard Finke

That's right. Jeff Miller hits 60 tomorrow and my mom hits the BIG 90. Wow. She is on Facebook if anyone wants to send her a message. She is Marjorie Finke if you want to do a FB search. Henry, I am not sure about Scott Robbins. He lived up the side road from my parents but I am not sure if he had been sick.

Happy Birthday Walker, lets put a case of City and a box of walnuts in the 63 and head for the country, well maybe 6 City's.

WHOA......hang on Grab ! If you & the birthday boy are headin' for the P-ville hills.....I wanna go with you! Although, I would have prefered the legendary Red Ryder over the '63, but alas, it perished in the fire years ago. Better swing by and pick up Rantoul & Desco, too. But, sorry to say, you're probably right about the Falls Silly, a 6-pk will most likely be enough. One for each of us and we can split the other one between us !! Pathetic old men, aren't we..... P.S. - You know 2014 will be the 40th anniversary of Gators trip....what ya think....we got one more in us ?? Concerning Scott Robbins..... I knew Scott, but since I don't get out much anymore, I do not know if he had been ill. Not many people knew of Scott's fine singing voice. He also played guitar. I played with him a few times back in our party days....and believe me, Scott knew how to party !!! If I had to describe Scott....I would have to say tough-as-nails, short-tempered, life of the party, loyal to his friends. Hard to believe he is gone....he most certainly will be missed.

Leslie Dollens Ryalls send me this info about the Ward family:

Been a while since I was on this site but saw your post re the Vietnam Wall and Mike Ward. Not positive but I'm pretty sure this was the brother of Randy Ward who was in my class. I remember he had a brother killed in Viet Nam. They were our 2nd cousins. (My mother was a Ward & think their dad was her 1st cousin.) There was a sister Donna who was in my sister's class and a couple other brothers as well. The mother was Dorothy Ward and I believe father's name was Joe, but not sure. They were 1st cousins of Steve Ward's family (more 2nd cousins to us).
