Thanks for the birthday wishes Leslie and Ruth.  I always have a great day because my youngest granddaughter has the same birthday.  She just turned seven.  I don't post on the website very often, but I do check it two or three times a week.  Good to keep up on everyone's news and tidbits of information.  I went through Bicknell last Friday.  My brother and I went to the boys' state track meet in Bloomington.  North Knox had a participant (Derek Chambers).  Website always brings back some great memories.  Thanks to Rich and Tom and anyone else that has helped to make the website what it is.

Congratulations on your retirement Brenda (Maude).  It's about time.  Nobody likes to have teachers that seventy and eighty years old.

Happy birthday tomorrow Summie - want to buy me lunch for your birthday???

Careful Roark !   Summy is none to happy with the "disruption" to his peace and harmony caused by you Duke people and your construction !

Mike, For some reason I'm guessing no matter how great this day is for you it will never beat the one in 77.  My mind is touching on alot of different possibilities at that event and it "ain't good".

Be safe and have a great day.  Send me your bar tab and I'll pay it. (or save it for a momento)

The Class of 68,69, and 71 have had reunions.  68 has had several get togethers.  I hope the class of 70 can get together one of these days.  I know it would be fun.  It does not have to be anything that fancy.  Just a get together where we can talk and catch up on the last 41 years.

I concur with Rich!!

Sorry I missed Mike Land's birthday awhile back.  Happy Birthday !

To everyone who never had the opportunity to experience it, Mike had the best electric powered merry-go-round.........EVER !  Anyone who was in Cub Scout Troop 126 will attest to that !

Yeah.....maybe it made you a little dizzy & a bit queezy and maybe it would fling you into the next county if you didn't hang on tight, but damn, it was FUN !

Good afternoon. Kent Benson, Keith Edmonds and myself along with our great staff just celebrated our third successful Indiana Class Basketball All-Star Classic in New Castle. We raised monies for our charity Cradles.

All games can be viewed at www.broadcastsport.net our partner in online streaming.

Just signed up with Hoosier Friday Night Overtime for another season of high school football on Channel 23 in Indianapolis with Anthony Calhoun and spot appearances on Sports Locker 8.

Started working on our 31st annual Goal Post Football magazine which will be debuted online at www.excelhsports.com (being updated as we speak by on ramp indiana now) the week of the high school football season.

Well that is the update from here hope you all are doing well and may God continue blessing your lives.

Richard

I was at the nursing home today to visit Mom. She asked me if I knew you. I told her yes, but I haven't seen you sence school. She told me your Dad was just up the hall from her and you were there visiting him. So I went up and looked for you and the nurse told me you had already went back home. Sorry I missed you.

I don't visit this site very often so while I am here I would like to say HI to everyone. Maybe now I am retired I will get on a little more.  If anyone has the time drop me a line. Fran.

Francis,  Thanks for the note.  I met your mom and have been saying hi when visiting my dad.  I am back for this week and go back home Saturday.  My dad broke his leg and is recovering at the home.  Hard to keep my dad down at 89.  His mind is still a little fuzzy from the medication.  Your mom seems pretty good. We also have classmate parents of Joe Koenig's mom in the home and Debbie O'dell's dad, Dr. O'dell in the home.  There may be some more I am not even aware of.  I hope everyone has a nice 4th weekend.  I spent the night at the nursing home with my dad last night.  That was an experience to say the least.  It just makes me appreciate the health I have.

With regards to a reunion, my Uncle Paul Finke had his 76th class reunion this week at the Freelandville Home.  It had a writeup in the Vincennes paper this morning about it.  4 from his class are left.  I hope we will have a reunion before our 76th like my Uncle.  If we have a 76th reunion, that would be in 2046.  I am afraid the attendance might be rather low.  Everyone take care.

Sorry.....I don't get here very much these days......very busy at work. I was able to get home early today and was thrilled to see a Happy Street resident gracing the homepage of this site. Dustin Stein (Francis' grandson) lives just up our street.

BTW, my wife has been busy this summer converting our old video tapes to DVD. Hopefully, we will soon have DVD on Youtube of the Corvettes playing at our wedding reception.

@dan roark, kent harting.

Don Dyer passed along a photo of us when we were in the first grade along with the second grade in westphalia that i forwarded on to finke to post here.

I think many people aren't aware but we were the last first grade class in the school.

So Dan and Kent i remember some of the kids but not all of them when Richard posts the picture let's see if we all together can't identify them.

thanks in advance
