I'm was not sure this bit of info would be of any interest to anyone, but Dick encouraged me to post.  You can blame Dick if I am boring you with useless information ! LOL

If you think our little website does not get much traffic, other than us "regulars" , then think again. Since I created the "Bands Of The 60's" page a good while back, here are some people whom I have received e-mails from.  They all thanked us for including their particular band as part of our NK 1970 site.

* Wayne Barnes (Louisville) - played drums for Tom Dooley & The Lovelights (Louisville).

* Carl Stevens (Princeton) - played guitar for The Koinsmen (Gibson Co.)  & later Free Reign.

* Tyk Phillips (Georgia) - played with The Koinsmen (Gibson Co.)

* Bill Smith (Michigan) - played drums for The Seventeens (late 50s/ early 60s - Vincennes)

* Tim Cox (Columbus, IN) - created "Indiana 60's Band Szene" website (check it out). Tim also passed along info on The Olivers, who played at NKHS.

* Don Gher (Illinos) - sent me info on The Guild (St. Louis). The Guild played several times in the late 1960's in the Vincennes area. Their lead vocalist was Michael McDonald, who later played with Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers. (Our resident "Doobie Groupie", Pat Grabbe, will appreciate that bit of trivia).

So....our website is more popular than you might have imagined !

Just read in the paper we lost another classmate. Kay Donaldson passed away...thoughts & prayers are with her family.

Ruth,  Thanks for the information on Kay.  The last time I saw Kay was at our 1995 reunion at the Elks in Bicknell.  I talked quite awhile that evening with Kay.  She was still the same Kay.  It sounded like she had quite a life.  She even drove a truck all over the country for awhile.  I believe Kay joined us in the 6th or 7th grade in Freelandville.  I believe Kay went to Westside in Bicknell prior to that.  I always liked Kay even though Mike Land and I were somewhat mean to her as school kids can often be.  I was always hoping she would sign on to our site and let us know about her life.  We have lost 2 classmates recently.  Life is short.  Kay and Russell, may you both rest in peace.

If I remember right Kay's family moved into my grandparents house in the country when they started attending Freelandville school. Always enjoyed talking to her....does anyone know cause of death to be living in a nursing home? 60 is young today as opposed to what I thought it was 40 yrs. ago!

Ruth,  I am hoping to find out what was wrong with Kay also.  I am just curious.  If anyone knows, please post.

Luellen Byrer (Miller)

Was sorry to hear of the loss of our classmates, Russell McCarter and Kay McGlone. God rest their souls.

I went to the visitation for Kay today. Spoke with her sister Susan.  Having not seen Kay since that last reunion, was not aware that she had diabetes, with complications from that.  Kidney failure, circulation problems, etc.  She fought the battle gracefully, but now has received the ultimate healing.  Susan showed me a poem Kay had written, probably a year ago.  It was as if she knew...

Lu,  Thanks for the post.  If you see Kay's sister, I would love to post the poem on Kay's page on our site as a memory to her.  Thanks again.  Rich
