Hey everyone! Sorry I'm been out of touch for so long.  Mom and dad have had numerous health problems these past 2 yr. and kept me running to SC. Mom passed away this past Dec. 26. She had a stroke, her 4th, in Dec. of 2011 and spent her last year in a nursing home with significant dementia. Dad has struggled without her at home, but there was no way he would leave his home.Gary and his wife had moved in downstairs but he was so independent!  He fell and fractured his leg above a prior break from about 3 yr ago and is now in a nursing home for rehab if possible.  His pain management has been a challenge along with depression, in my opinion. I've worked in healthcare all my professional life but it never gets easy watching your own parents struggle. I was sorry to hear about Kay. I liked her too. By the way, I can't praise Hospice enough in the way they helped Mom just in her last few hours. Take care everyone.

Kathy,  I was very sorry to hear about your mom.  You have certainly had some tough times with your mom and trying to take care of your dad.  I just wanted to let you know you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.  Please let me know if I can ever help out in any way.  I liked your mom very much.  She was a wonderful lady.

Thanks Rich and Dan for your thoughts about Mom, also to Ruth for her message.  I do feel immense relief for her because I know she wouldn't want to keep existing the way she was....Dad is being quite a challenge in the nursing home but Gary and I knew it wouldn't be easy for him...or us! It's hard to watch such independent people struggle with dependency.

Our thoughts are with Christy & family:

Lanny Fulford

FARRAGUT, Tenn. — Lanny Fulford, 61, Ten Mile, formerly of Edwardsport, Ind., passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at his home.

Lanny attended Farragut Christian Church and was a member of Edwardsport Lodge 429 F&AM. He was an avid hunter, enjoying deer hunting in Colorado and pheasant hunting in Iowa and South Dakota. Lanny played and coached softball, umpired girls softball and also played volleyball. He collected knives, guns, antiques, arrowheads, straight razors, posters and many other things. He loved to tell stories and enjoyed photography.

Lanny is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cris Fulford; son, Craig D. Fulford; aunt, Sue Ducharme of Bloomfield, Ind.; and cousins, Paul Ducharme and Nancy Nolting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Betty Fulford.

A Celebration of Life will be at 3 p.m. CDT Saturday, with the Rev. Jason Warden officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. CDT Saturday at Farragut Christian Church in Farragut. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkinson Support Group of East Tennessee at: http://pkhopeisalive.org.

Saw on FaceBook on Wednesday that Steve Posey, Class of 1969 from Freelandville, has passed away. Steve was living in Terre Haute and was married to my wife's cousin's husband's sister. Steve was a very good friend of mine for many years, and I am sure that a lot of our class knew him, as well. We worked together for awhile and were roommates in the early 70's.  He passed on May 11th of cancer. I am sure that he will be missed by those of you who knew him.  Rest in Peace, Steve.

I just got the news of Steve Posey's passing. Steve grew up just up the street from me and both of us shared a love for baseball. In fact Steve ended up with the unofficial home run record for our neighborhood baseball diamond (located in my backyard).Over the Trotter girl's (April, Toby & Cheryl) house was considered a home run. As we progressed into Little League baseball, Steve and I shared pitching duties on our 1965 Freelandville championship team. Steve, Moon and I played on a "throw-together"  all-star team after high school.. I'm sure Moon will recall he, Steve and myself going to a Pittsburg Pirates try-out camp in Vincennes around about 1972. Needless to say the Pirates were not impressed with our baseball skills. Even though I lost contact with Steve in later years, he will always be one of the "Freelandville guys" who gathered at Milt's gas station on late Saturday nights in the 60's and 70's.  I still have many pictures of Steve and the rest of the eastside Freelandville gang. He will be missed. Rest in peace. Steve.

Okay Class of 1970..............pick a date for June or July of next year 2014 that would be a good date to hold a reunion please?

Let's see if we can find a common date to have the reunion.

Also, where would be a good place to hold a reunion?

Thanks for all your help...
