This morning I got a text from Zac Burton that Jerry passed away peacefully this morning after a long illness. Jerry wanted to be cremated and put in his bamboo garden. They will have a memory service in April when the new bamboo shoots start blooming.

So sad to hear this. Jerry was a great guy and teammate. He was a vital part of our successful cross country team. He will be dearly misssed but never forgotten. I have a picture of him with our team in my home office and see it everyday. I often think about the times we all ran together. Sincere prayers and condolences to his family. Barry Binkley

Once again we are reminded of our mortality. Jerry was a perfect example of Billy Joel's song, Only the Good Die Young....
Those of us who are here understand that we are all young at heart.

Jerry indeed was a fine fellow. While I am sad to learn of another fellow Woodwardite leaving us, It is good to read the comments of fellow classmates. It brings back some memories of times spent with them. The past is gone, the future never comes. We live in the now. Tha's why they call it the PRESENT.
