Gary Berg, ASB President and standout of the 1969 Basketball team, passed away in 2013 after suffering a heart attack.

Chris Candelaria and I met you in 8th grade...you 2 later married and had 2 children. You ARE unforgettable, still....rest in peace, my friend.

Wow, I was stunned to get this notice. A few of us had the pleasure of visiting w/Gary before the last GGHS reunion. Hard to believe he passed away just 2 or 3 yrs after that. What a terrific leader he was of our class. Another classmate gone too soon. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Rosemary Smith (West) (1969)
I didn't know Gary well, but I do remember him and I remember speaking with him at a reunion. Very sad.
Art Gamst (1970)
I never liked the name they gave him, "The Garbage Man" He had the ability to score down low...
I learned a lot watching him. He told me "if you could feel them behind you it was to your advantage"
Him and Broom and Carlson were great together. I met one of the guys that played against him at Katella HS.
He had nothing but praise for the three. We'll miss Gary...
