Bill Edwards

Dave, in my eyes was the ULTIMATE CLASS ACT. He was very bright, very talented, involved, and he was FEARLESS. I got to know him early on in Concert Band where the trombone was his musical expression, and for this to continue well into his adulthood until Parkinson's was making it difficult to hold the instrument steady. For many years, he played trombone for Colorado Swing and then transitioned to a tremendous vocalist for this group. He had given me a recording of him singing in one of their performances and I was blown away by his tremendous baritone pipes. He could have thrown in the towel as his Parkinson's progressed, but he did the opposite, including completing a experimental, high-risk brain procedure for electrical implants to counter the Parkinson effects - and it WORKED for a number of years, including his being able to be with us for #50 3 yrs. ago and that he was able to enjoy & engage in every single minute of it. He was married to the amazing Ellen, and was adored by his children, grandchildren, and like myself, who was privileged to know him beginning from our FROSH year. May your memory be a blessing Dave for eternity. I miss you.
