I have nothing but very fond memories of Angela. She was so kind, and she had a great sense of humor. In my mind, I can only see her with a huge grin on her face and an oboe in her hand. For the past 20 years, she taught at Jersey Village High School. Huge loss....

In Memory of
Angela Lee  Reat Kinman

Angela Lee Kinman passed away at the age of 53 on March 3, 2014 in Houston. She was born on August 19, 1960 to Grover and Jeraine Reat. She was a beloved by many as a teacher, a colleague, and most of all a woman of integrity and faith in the Lord.

Angela grew up in Houston where she graduated from Westchester High School in 1979. She later attended Sam Houston State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in education with an emphasis on drama and English. She worked at Jersey Village High School in Houston for over twenty years where she taught drama, math, and study skills. She was also certified in dyslexia testing. Her love and passion was teaching drama and mentoring students in theatre productions such as: Bus Stop, Harvey, Our Town, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Arsenic and Old Lace. She was also proud to assist in Godspell when she started theatre at Jersey Village. She also co-directed many University Interscholastic League performances. She was loved by her students for her compassion, kindness, enthusiasm, and beautiful smile.

Most of all, Angela wishes to be remembered for her strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Like Him, she too had a deep love for others and always had their best interest at heart. This extended to those who differed from her. It was this form of passion which enabled her to become a school teacher.

Angela was preceded in death by her father Grover Reat, and her grandparents Grover and Viola Reat, and John and Dale Ferguson. Angela is survived by her son Nathan Kinman and his father Michael; her mother Jeraine Reat; sister Vickie Reat and life partner Natasha Schave, and their children Wylie and Esme; her sister Jennifer Kappus and husband Ron and their children Orry and Sabrina, and Sabrina’s son Sam. She is also survived by a number of cousins on both sides of the family.
