On Friday, September 4, 2015 a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend left this world, escorted by angels, to be with Jesus. Brian Gene Young was born June 11, 1962, in Beaumont, TX, to parents L.J. and Mary Hanks Young, and went peacefully, knowing that he was dearly loved in this life and in the life to come. He grew up in Houston, graduated from Westchester High School in 1980, and from Sam Houston State University in 1984. Brian was a good athlete, lettering in both football and baseball in high school, and could play a pretty competitive round of golf. He enjoyed his career in sales which culminated in his own business as a successful manufacturer's representative of electronic components and semiconductors. Brian inspired his family and friends with his deep faith in God, and with his courage and grace while battling ALS for the last 4 years. Brian is survived by his loving family: his wife of 22 years, Donda Young; two daughters, Chandler Jean Young and Adrianne (Abraham) Stone; two brothers, Brent Young and Bruce (Rose) Young; his parents; five loving nieces and nephews; and in-laws, Ray and Lou Johnson.

The family would like to thank all of Brian's unbelievably loyal and supportive friends, and the attentive doctors and nurses that have been there for him. Please join us, Wednesday September 9 at 1 pm as we celebrate and give thanks for Brian's life at Champion Forest Baptist Church, 15551 Stuebner Airline Rd, Houston, Texas 77069. Following the service there will be a brief reception at the church and a celebration of life at the home of Mike and Robin Gallagher to which everyone is invited.

Donations would be appreciated to the Houston Methodist Neurological Institute MDA/ALS Center, 6560 Fannin Street, Suite 802, Houston, Texas 77030, in memory of Brian or a gift of time to Global Media Outreach, an internet ministry Brian participated in.
