Brenda Jean Hobbs Gawronski
August 15, 1956 - December 7, 2022

Brenda Gawronski, age 66, of Whitehouse, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. She was born on Wednesday, August 15, 1956 in Coronado Island, California at the Naval Air Station Hospital to Bobby Laroy Hobbs and Norma Jean Hobbs. The family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas later that year.
Brenda attended Calk Elementary School. She made her profession of faith and was baptized at Parkdale Baptist Church. Several years later the family moved to Houston, Texas where Brenda attended school in the Spring Branch Independent School District, then she graduated from Westchester High School - Class of 1974. While in high school Brenda enjoyed playing softball and volunteering as a candy striper at Spring Branch Hospital. This was the beginning of her desire to take care of those around her - professionally and personally. After graduation, Brenda moved to Tyler, Texas to attend Tyler Junior College. While attending she met and married Mark Chamblee. She and Mark were blessed with two loving children, Heather Spring and Christopher Mark. Brenda chose to return to college to obtain her vocational nursing license at the UT Nursing School. She worked in a hospital setting, physician's office, and for an insurance company processing claims. In her spare time. Brenda began bowling - it was there that she met Charles "Ski" Gawronski. Brenda and Ski married in 2004. They enjoyed league bowling, taking gambling trips, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, as well as spending time at the American Legion. Brenda was employed as the bookkeeper at the American Legion, until retiring in 2017.
Brenda never met a stranger. She was larger than life; the love and care she shared with those around her was limitless. Brenda's sense of humor was much appreciated by those who loved and cherished her.
Brenda is survived by her children, Heather (Kevin) Black of Flint, Texas, and Christopher Chamblee of Tyler, Texas; step-daughter, Bobbie (Kevin) Boggess of Abilene, Texas; mother and step-father, Norma Jean and Larry Jones of Houston, Texas; as well as siblings, Kyle Hobbs, Kevin Hobbs, Todd (Deborah) Jones, Scott (Sybil) Jones, Curt (Nancy) Jones, Wade (Karen) Jones, and Andrea Jones; grandchildren, Colby, Baylee, Spencer, Mia, Ian, Torri Brian, and Robby; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many close friends - all of whom will miss her greatly.
Brenda is preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Ski" Gawronski; special companion, Maddie; father, Bobby L. Hobbs; sister, Lynda Joyce Hobbs Linger; and her grandson, Jeremy Gawronski.
Contributions in honor of Brenda's memory may be made to SPCA of East Texas and Hospice of East Texas.
A celebration of life memorial for Brenda was held Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler, Texas 75704. Gathering at the American Legion Post 12, immediately following at 5503 American Legion Road, Tyler, Texas 75708.
