James William Rice, II

August 24, 1955 - October 31, 2000

James William Rice II, 45, 633 State, Quincy, formerly of Houston, Texas died Tuesday, October 31, 2000 at 5:40am at 1400 N. 30th.

He was born August 24, 1955 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of James Allen Rice and Marjorie Knapheide Rice.

Mr. Rice was a graduate of Westchester High School - Class of 1974 - Houston, Texas. James was a graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in history. He also served in the U. S. Navy. He worked for Tri-State Janitorial service and attended the First Christian Church. He played the French Horn in the Quincy Community Band.

Survivors include his mother, Marjorie K. Rice, Houston, TX.; a brother, Cdr. Allen Rice and his wife Yvonne, Washington,D.C. and a nephew, Nicholas Allen Rice, Washington, D.C

Graveside services were held Monday, November 6, 2000 at 11 am in Sunset Cemetery, Rev. George Sublette officiating. Friends were invited to the services.

Memorials may be given to the University of Iowa Foundation.
