Othel "Buddy" Curtis Couch, Jr.

August 5, 1954 - January 3, 2017

Othel (Buddy) Couch

KARNACK Buddy came into this world August 5, 1954 in Houston, TX to his parents, Joy Norris Couch and Othel Curtis Couch. He graduated from Westchester High School in Houston and spent his professional career working in heavy construction. His greatest enjoyment was his family, friends, and numerous pets. Buddy served his Lord faithfully and passed peacefully in his sleep on January 3, 2017 in Bernice, LA after an extended illness.

Buddy is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Joy Couch of Karnack, TX; a sister and brother-in-law, Almedia and Paul Grant of Marshall, TX; nieces, Lauren Grant McGrew, Katy Grant Hanyka, and Jettie Grant Currie; great nephews, Travis Paul McGrew and Luke James Currie; and cousins, Mike Couch and Mike Norris. He was preceded in death by his father, Othel Couch, Sr.

For numerous years, Buddy joyfully held an active role in the daily care of his nieces. As a result, many happy and fun memories of Buddy will always be held in their hearts.

We will miss Buddys beautiful smile and his wonderful sense of humor. He was kind and sensitive to the needs of others including any animal in distress. For this reason, we ask any donations in honor of Buddy be made to Furr Ever Pets Rescue; P.O. Box 443; Judson, TX 75660.

Buddys life will be honored in a private family ceremony. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the loving care givers at Bernice Nursing Home in Bernice, LA and Hospice Compassus of Monroe, LA. Services provided by Gorsulowsky Funeral Home, Vivian, LA.

T. Michael Fink (1972)

I remember Buddy well from Spring Forest Jr. High and Westchester Sr. High schools. While our older sisters were close friends, Buddy and I new each other, but didn't really hang together. However, we started to become closer friends during sophomore year at Westchester (1969-1970). I always knew him as a nice guy and someone worth having as a friend.

About 6 months ago I was surfin' the internet seaching for folks I new at Westchester. When I typed in "Othel Couch" I immediately got his memorial. I was shocked to say the least.

Rest in Peace, Buddy.

Your old friend, Mike Fink
