Carey lived in Kingwood, TX the last 13 years of his life. He went back to college, earning a Teaching Degree, and then got his Masters. He was working as Vice Principal in Humble, Texas at the time of his death.
He was very active in his Church, was instrumental in getting Celebrate Recovery started in his Church, and lovingly and peacefully faced his death.
