Melissa “Missy” Lacy Moffett, age 57, of Lewes, DE, formerly of Silver Spring, MD, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at her residence. Born in Birmingham, AL on May 29, 1952, she is the daughter of May (Lacy) Moffett of South Boston, VA and the late Robert Parker Moffett formerly of Birmingham Alabama.
Missy worked for the American Medical Association for 31 years retiring as Director of Administrative Services for the Washington DC office. Missy was an amazing gardener, loved birds, wildlife, the beach, collecting sea shells and was very proud of her home and garden. She loved her two cats, Henry and June and her John Deere memorabilia collection. She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved her family and friends. She was known as the “Colonel” or “Sarge” and was in charge of everything, making sure that everyone knew how things were to be done.
In addition to her mother, Missy is survived by two brothers: Robert P. Moffett, Jr. and his wife Gwen of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA and Chris Moffett and his wife Johanna of Vancouver, WA.
All services for Missy are private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
